Landscaping and major plant expenditure is a bridge too far at the moment so most of my garden is purely bodging!
The wall at the top and the shed are literally crumbling so this year's limit is slapping a coat of paint on them, as with the stairs (they are made of decades-old ugly concrete, I just slapped 2 boxes worth of Toupret on top and painted them). I lost a conifer on the right hand side this year (again, probably very old) but haven't had the means to fully replace it so I've just used my kids' old balance beam and added some mesh for ivy to climb up, and the bench is recycled also. The logs around the rockery are all from elsewhere the garden. All a bit of a mish mash, very lucky to have the crab apple and acer holding it all together – the former has come back very strong this year after 2 years of wooly aphid infestations. But, you know, it's what you make it!
Anyone else got the 'make do and mend' spirit?

Yes!!
All the exposed trellis crumbled a long time ago but the ivy and clematis all over the others is what’s holding them together! Also don’t look at the bodge up job near the wall becasue of the dodgy post, please!
