[Music] Good morning. I’m Men. Welcome back to Benny Orchard. Welcome back to my fruit forest. I love the sound of the bird. It’s so relaxing. I love it. That’s what you want. When you come back here, you enjoy the nature, but at the same time can be very deadly early in the morning and toward the evening. That’s when they come and they just chip chip chip chip on your fruit and they just destroy it. I try everything. I try all those reflector. It’s not working. Um, my next option is probably I had to put the nest over my fruit tree. I hate it. I think that thing is so ugly. But I probably don’t have a choice right now. You know, a lot of thing is growing, you know, in my food forest, including some of the vegetable that I planted in my big uh planters is start to take off. So today I’m just going to give you a little update to my food forest. [Music] [Music] I love the sound the bird early in the morning. It’s so peaceful and relaxing, but at the same time can be deadly. This is a time early in the morning when they start to attack your fruit. of the tree. And here is the Washington Naval Orange. I don’t have a lot of food this year’s, but I will get a lot next year’s. So this year most my citrus tree I don’t have a lot of fruit this year. And this is this year is hot is hotter than last year. And this right here is my this this part right here I plant some viola and some this is a mixed lettuce chef’s salad lettuce and see my neighbor have palm tree and some the dry leaves just fall on the the plant and like right here is a lettuce. And I let it go to flower. We collect the seed. Let me show you. Let me see if I can open it. I don’t know you can see all this. See? I don’t know you can see that the seed. And this is Viola edible flower. I let it go to see too, but I’ve been so busy and they all pop already. Not all of most of it. So, I’m going to have so much viola on the ground. It’s going to be so beautiful. It’s like ground cover and I don’t mind with it. But this area going to be so much with viola on the ground this next year, coming spring. Let me give you just some update a little bit. This one right here is tangerine dancy. There’s no flower at all. This ears, this is from the last year fruit. [Music] And I have a lot of plumeriia. [Music] So happy with the plumeriia statu. This one I don’t have flower yet. I love this. Look at the pear. And right here is pomegranate bauca. I don’t this one I pruned them a lot last year. Cut it down and I don’t have a a lot of fruit. Fancy look all clean up. Get the mango. [Music] I start to grow plumeriia three years ago and then most of my plumeri most of my plumeriia is the 70% is from cutting. Uh I bought some of them but most of it is from cutting and a friend of mine he he work for the city and I asked him to look for plumeriia for the plumeriia for me on the trash day cuz people you know how like they cleaning their garden they cutting and they throw it away and he’s you know and I say I I’m looking for the red one the yellow one and he found the red one for me is right here. See that? And it was it was a branch, a good size branch. And I cut them about into about 10 pieces and put them in the pot, you know, and and look at how they grow now. And eventually I’m going to cut them again just like this right here. You see that? this they I got flower last year from this one and now probably sometime uh this year maybe I don’t know I’m going to cut this cut this part right here right there and what happen is uh new shoot is coming out from the side so it make your tree your uh get fuller I don’t know nothing about plumeriia I start to just like I said I start to plant them 3 years ago because where I live in Southern California, it gets so hot and and the drought and plumeriia is so easy to grow and drought tolerant. And I learned how to grow plumeriia through YouTube like everyone else. And let me show you the flower. This one too right here. I have so much now. Am I still want to this, you know, there’s a lot of plumeri that I I would like to to have. And this one right here is my pimmen. I plant this last year’s and this is called giant fu. And I got five fruit out of this one. Let me see. See that right there? And it’s a big fruit. That’s what they call giant fuyu. And the other side of the house is uh just a regular fu. Here you go. And you know what? I’m so busy this time of the year, summer time. Everything growing so fast. We have problem with uh Oh, I have Japanese beetle. It’s crazy over here. And you have, you know, every time when you see those white butterfly, that’s time they laying eggs. That’s when you get all this worm on your tomato, some of your plant and all kind of stuff. I’m so very very busy. Strawberry. Yummy yummy. I love it. [Music] And this one is the guawa. [Music] I live next to the airport, to the freeway, and police station. How about that? Everything. And [Music] right here also finish cleaning up on my orange tree. I love chicken roast. I wish I have a bigger lot. I always wait. I always want a chicken coops. This is fuchsia. So, here is my fruit forest. It’s getting bigger and bigger every day. [Music] In about 2 weeks, going to be a jungle. And is this is grapefruit or blanco. [Music] See And I finally cut myself. My son bought me a compost bin right here. This is my peach tree called red baron. I prune them down. Oh my goodness. Cut them down so much because the tree keep going up and up. And now I like the way Now I love the way it’s shaped. Now I have some fruit inside. And I love red baron peach tree. The flower is so beautiful. And also the flavor of the peach is delicious. I would recommend if you want to grow peach tree depend where you live. I love red bar. The flower or the fruit, the whole thing is beautiful. The flower and the fruit tastes so good. And I’m going to make peach cobbler this years. And this is my big planter that I have. I try to go a lot of stuff in my big planter. I have see I have some corn over here. Uh a lot of moms they spread all over with their seed everywhere. They get bigger and bigger year after year. This is their actually they’re going to their third year now. And I’ve been busy like you see all my this up. I have to thin them. If you want your fruit to get bigger, you have to thin them. If the if uh if you don’t mind eat them small, then don’t thin them. But I haven’t get a chance to thin them out yet. A bunch of them on the front. I didn’t thin them out. I’m way too busy. And my favorite apple is Fuji apple. This is Fuji apple. And in here, my big planter. I have I’m I just like I said I have some corn in here. Plant some zenia. I have merry gold back there. I’m show you I will show you in the other side. Uh I have some uh this is cosmo. I have Thai chili. Uh bell pepper. This one down here. One thing I I have a bunch of stuff I need to take care of it. Um, what I like to grow bell pepper in here because it’s some shade and so the bell pepper don’t get burned from the sun. So, I found out it’s a perfect spot for grow bell pepper. And my the other pepper and the chili seem to do really really well in here. And this one right here is white sapote. And right here is my uh stripe fix the Z called zebra. See that? And this is going 3 years now my figs and I I’ve been pruning them for the past two year because I want them that full looking. Now I just I really like it a lot now. I like the shape that come out of the tree. You see? You can show you. See that? And right here is Juju Bee. It call sugar cane. The flower the it smells so sweet. And here is the fruit. I love juju be this one. This two right here. Sugar cane is so sweet. They’re not as big as the ling and the lang. What would you call? But the thing is like one thing about Juju be their their runner is like invasive. I constantly have to take out all those sucker all the time. They’re coming out so fast. Every week it’s just crazy. It show you see even come down mean all over. Mike’s husband just cleaned them last week. He had to take the break out. Me show you right here. He had to take the break out. Taking all all of this. And he just done this last week. It come back again already. And wait, all those up there. I have to do it constantly. I love juju bee but if you don’t have time to care for that juju bee tree and keep it clean with all those runner because you want your tree to focus on the tree and the fruit not you know because all those sucker will take all the energy off the tree not just that it just invasive I would not recom if you don’t have the time to care for juju be tree I would not recommend to grow juju be tree because it’s a lot of work if you neglected them. And right here is my uh honeymandarine tangerine right over here. See, that’s a honeymander. This is my other plum. It’s not really ready yet. haven’t turned the color too much color yet because the bird will attack it. My my my plum here they attack every tree, every plum tree, every fruit tree when it’s ready. I try everything all kind of reflector is not working. I don’t only way I want to protect the fruit is to put the nest over the tree just like juju bee. They just attack them when it’s ready. And to be honest, I don’t like to put the nest over the tree. I think it’s so unattractive. It’s very ugly and I don’t want to do that. Oh, it’s a plum. See this is my See B pepper in here. have a mom viola. This is all from the seed that just flew all over. And this is a sweet pepper. And this one is satsuma tangerine. It’s so sweet. It’s my favorite tangerine. It’s so juicy, sweet, easy to peel and seedless. It’s so good. See This one is a bay leaf. And you know, you can cut your bay leaf and you dry them and you can burn them inside your house. Is so relaxing. Suit your mind. This one was a gift from my nephew girlfriend’s parents. And this one is called Champoo. I think we could call wax apple. I believe. Show you real quick on this side. on the other side of my big planter zena. So from seed that I save, I don’t buy any zenia. The Thai chili, this is lemon tree. This is lime. Look at my pepper. Sweet pepper. Love it. Look at this. How big are they? Look at that. Look at my hand. We see. See? Look at my hand. And look at how big the pepper. I’ve been make a lot of uh apple chip this year. Normally every year I make applesauce. I have so much leftover from last year. So I decided to make a lot of apple chip this year. That’s for our munching. This is another uh grapefruit or blanco. So I have nine fruit tree in here inside my big planter. There’s nine of them. I can I want to grow everything in here. See that? That’s See [Music] right in Here I have Asian pear here and right here. This section I’m going to I have a lot of fruit tree here. I need to add some flour in here. I have so much seed from my zenia. So right here it’s not too late to uh plant zena over uh over here with southern California because it’s hot. So I’m going have a batch over here. Nothing but zenas. This is going to be my cut flower over here for the house. And this is another plumeriia that my friend got for me. He found a branch. I split them up. This isn’t. See that? I told my I want a yellow one. He said, “Okay.” She said, “This is the closest I can get for you.” Look at that. And same over here. I split I cut them. You know, I think I made about another eight or nine cut that I plant in the pot and then I transfer to the ground. I put some in the front house. And God, the smell of plumeriia, the flower. Oh, so so awesome. And this is I can’t believe it. I have some flower for my um what you call it? Look at this. Salim. I can’t think. There more corn in here. This is The guawa. And this is some of my pear. This one is kefir. Some of the plum here. And show you my other plum here which is the bird. This is what they do early in the morning and toward the evening. That’s when they come and attack your fruit. See that? That’s all from the bird. this peach tree here in the pot I just planted this year. I’m not going to get anything until next year. And I’ve been picking my peach I mean my my plum over here because of the bird. I might had to put the nest today because you see how they been eating them. I already picked half of the from the tree already. Uh my my family, my daughter and my sister-in-law, they like it like this. You know, in our culture, you dip it in sauce and that’s what they do. They prefer this way instead of ripe. They say taste better for them. I like them too myself. [Music] So we have my garden. [Music] Look at how this weird shaped mango. See that? Another one right over here. I don’t know what happened. See, you’re not weird. Thank you for watching and I will see you in my next video. [Music]
