APARTMENT BALCONY PEPPERS ๐Ÿซ‘ ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ



Finally transplanted some of my peppers on to my balcony ๐Ÿซ‘๐ŸŒถ๏ธ. Still have a ways to go but my babies are doing what they are suppose to do ๐ŸŒฑโœจ

I’ve been growing peppers inside of my apartment and this weekend I finally got a chance to transplant some of them outside. As some of you may know, I started these peppers from dollar store seeds and watching how they’ve been growing nice and luscious and big has been so amazing. Now that some of them are strong, I started hardening them off outside, which simply means that I exposed them to outside weather conditions so that they can get strong and be able to handle outside weather elements. After hardening them off for a couple days, it was time to transplant them fully to the balcony. And for that, I’m using 5gallon grow bags. But if you have any type of container or bucket, you can use that. Gardening does not have to be over complicated, just effective. I’m doing a mix of garden soil, bone meal, and worm poop because I want to give my peppers a happy place to extend their roots and really grow and flourish. I deepen the hole so that my peppers have room. And then I carefully remove the roots from the original soil and plant deep into my grow bag. This is one of my bell pepper plants and her name is Diva. I’m also planting in these two habaneros, which I call the twins, Ace and Deuce. I’m going to put them into their own grow bag as well. I’m going to give them a nice water shower and let them adjust to their new home. But you guys, use your balcony, use your apartment to start growing your own food. Of course, I’ll keep you guys updated on the peppers, but for now, bye.

    I don't see any amendments for drainage!!!! I highly recommend adding either perlite, vermiculate or pumice for drainage. They'll prevent soil compaction and root rot.

    I'm going to start my patio garden this summer ,I don't know what is the best soil to use ? And what kind of fertilizer do you use?
