So what I found is that when the light hits the seeds for a long time they float more. So as soon as it pops the seam you should pull it off. They come off easiest with a twist.
Put it inside under a fan on a paper towel. Mush the pulp all over the towel and allow it to dry. Once it’s dry, scrape into a wire mesh and strain. The fruit dust should come off fairly easily. Rinse them several times to get the majority of the pulp dust off, then place all the cleaned seed into a large container of water., mix well and let settle.
At this point you should be able to scrape off the surface seeds (not finished seeds, unviable seeds) and then decant the mid floaters (should germinate) and finally the sinkers (will germinate no problem)
Allow each batch to dry out then do what you will

There are lots of ways but the best advice I’ve seen was from GeeBee and that was to scrape fruit into a plastic baggie, add a little water and let sit in sun for the day. Dump into a bowl add more water. The fruit will break down from the heat and sun and seeds will be easy to separate. The floaters and pulp will pour off the top just rinse and clean then pour seeds onto a paper towel to let dry. Let dry all the way. If you bag em too soon they will mold. Floaters germinate too btw, maybe not 100% but many will.
