Here’s why Auburn football upped its national championship count to 9
This week, Auburn football announced it was claiming nine national championship. Here’s a rundown of why the program made the change.
HGTV recently released its list of the 50 most beautiful gardens in every U.S. state, and for Alabama, the spotlight shines on the breathtaking Bellingrath Gardens and Home in Theodore. With its lush landscapes and Southern charm, it’s no surprise this historic site made the cut.
According to HGTV, the list isn’t meant to be a strict ranking, but rather an invitation to explore some of the country’s most captivating green spaces. As they explain:
“There are countless places to see unique, well-curated and even awe-inspiring gardens — maybe even in your own backyard. So don’t fight us on our definition of “most beautiful” here; we’re not out to compete.”
About Bellingrath Gardens and Home
Nestled in the small town of Theodore, just outside Mobile, Bellingrath Gardens is a 65-acre floral wonderland developed by Walter and Bessie Bellingrath in the 1930s.
Originally a fishing camp, the property was transformed into one of the South’s most visited gardens, complete with a historic home, mirror lakes and a constantly evolving display of flowers.
Can I visit Bellingrath year-round?
Whether it’s the riot of azaleas in the spring, the fragrant roses in the summer or the award-winning Magic Christmas in Lights display during the holidays, Bellingrath offers beauty year-round.
Visitors can explore themed gardens, enjoy the river views or tour the beautifully preserved Bellingrath home, a 10,500 square foot mansion filled with original furnishings and antiques.
