He was doing amazing until a few weeks ago, and suddenly he started wilting! Nothing changed, and I checked for root rot and there wasn’t anything. I watered him whenever the soil was dry and he started sagging, and he had good drainage, and usually perks back up. Hes in direct and indirect sunlight. He’s been getting worse and worse, how can I bring him back?

direct sunlight will burn the leaves: and should be avoided.

water when the top inch or two of soil feels dry, but never let it dry out completely, and maintain high humidity.

to care for a calathea, provide bright, indirect light, and avoid direct sun at all costs. keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy

I’ve given up on this kind of calathea because they *love* to die.

Look at the back of the leaves. I see spidermites. I have this exact plant and I’m going through the spidermite challenge now. (See how I made it sound fun? 😆) I just released predatory mites in hopes they will help. I’ve wiped, sprayed, treated, etc. My plant bounced back but honestly, I’d rather take fungus gnats over spidermites any day of the week.
