After the long, hot summer, thoughts turn to cooler weather and fall gardening, ready for green, gold, orange and brown foliage, flowers and vegetables.

Johnson Somervell Counties Retired School Employees Association welcomes Kathy Weaver, of Weaver Plant Nursery, the family-owned, independent garden center in Cleburne since 2006, to speak on the subject of fall gardens.

The program begins at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mark’s United Methodist Church Family Center.

Weaver is Texas Nursery and Landscape Association Certified, as are many of the nursery’s employees. They have completed coursework and participate in continuing education. They can help you find the right plant for the right place, whether you have an acre or a pot.

The nursery carries both adapted and native plants, which grow well in this area. You can find not only good advice but also everything you need — flowers, trees, shrubs, succulents, vegetables, fertilizers, organic materials, mulches, composts, and more for this locality.

Weaver Plant Nursery takes pride in the quality, as well as the care, of its plants. They also offer soil amendments and mulch, fertilizer, seeds, small tools, gloves, edging, fabric and the like. You can’t go wrong with their large geranium hanging baskets or nursery-grown vegetable transplants. They will even help you design landscapes or plant trees.
