Sometimes the best business ideas are born in unexpected places—like a back porch, a glass of wine in hand and a simple question: “What are we going to do with all this wine?”
For owners of Two Lips to Tulips Lisa Hasha and Tim Giraud, that casual conversation turned into a thriving new concept in Montgomery.
“What started as a porch conversation with my wife has turned into a wine and floral bar where guests can sip, relax and create,” Giraud said. “We opened our doors on June 25, and it’s been amazing to see the community embrace a space that combines two things we’re truly passionate about—wine and flowers.”
How Two Lips to Tulips came to be
The story of Two Lips to Tulips began unexpectedly. Giraud had spent nearly 20 years importing and distributing wine, building a successful business—until the COVID pandemic abruptly halted it. With a warehouse full of wine and an uncertain market, Giraud turned to consulting.
That’s when he and his wife, talented wedding florist Lisa Hasha, had a transformative idea one evening on their porch. Combining Giraud’s wine expertise with Hasha’s floral creativity, they realized they could merge their passions into a single concept.
“That’s where the idea of a wine and floral came from, which we felt was the perfect way to share what we love with the community,” Giraud said.
The couple brought their idea to life by remodeling a Montgomery building and officially opening Two Lips to Tulips on June 25.
A wine for every palette
At Two Lips to Tulips, wine isn’t just a beverage; it’s an experience. Giraud has personally hand-selected every bottle available on the menu, ensuring there’s truly something for every palate.
Additionally, all of the wines are exclusive, rare selections from real Italian vineyards, including:
Olivi De BucheFrancesca MaraAntonio MaccieriBonelliSanta GuistinaGloriaFor those who want to explore before committing, curated wine flights provide a tasting experience, which features three 1-ounce pours for $15 or $25 for premium wines.
The bar also offers seasonal and specialty wines, including partnerships with Texas wineries like Messina Hof. And nondrinkers aren’t left out—mocktails such as strawberry margaritas, Moscow mules and blackberry mojitos ensure everyone can join in the tasting experience.
Artisanal charcuterie boards
At Two Lips to Tulips, the wine experience is elevated by charcuterie boards that are as thoughtfully crafted as the wines they accompany.
Guests can choose from nine varieties of premium meats, artisanal cheeses and flavorful spreads, each carefully selected for exceptional quality, freshness and taste. The offerings showcase richness and authenticity, from savory cured meats to bold, aged cheeses and vibrant spreads that balance sweetness, spice and tang.
Adding to the experience, the boards themselves are Israeli olive wood, chosen not only for durability but also for their natural beauty.
Whether it’s an intimate board for one or a large platter for seven to eight, each presentation reflects a commitment to excellence, creating a tasting experience that is visually stunning and designed to pair seamlessly with Two Lips to Tulips’ exclusive wines.
A blooming experience
At Two Lips to Tulips, flowers are just as central to the experience as the wine. Hasha brings her creativity and expertise to every corner of the space, from stunning silk and dried floral arrangements to vibrant fresh bouquets that greet guests upon arrival.
Guests can explore a variety of floral experiences, from prearranged bouquets to customizable options at the floral bar, where they can build their own arrangements. Hasha also leads hands-on floral classes, teaching everything from bouquet design to seasonal creations, and the space is available for private events.
