The winner of Dogwood Circle Garden Club’s “Garden of the Month” award for September was given to Mike and Pam Glantz, 16 Spong Hollow Road. Mike states that he “loves to grow things” and a view of his corner location proves it. Foundation plantings, property edges and garden islands all contribute to a beautiful landscape featuring multiple rose varieties, native pollinator-friendly shrubs and trees and flowers that also attract seed-eating birds in all seasons of the year. More photos are on the Dogwood website www.lhgardenclub.com. To nominate a garden for October’s award, text 570-367-9658 or nominate one through the club’s Facebook page. Gardens must be neatly maintained, contain natural plantings with a variety of colors and textures and be visible from a public road or alley.
