I was following a YouTube video for growing an avocado tree from a seed. In the video it said to prune the stem back an inch once it reached 6 inches and then let it grow back again before planting it in soil. When I pruned it, there were 4 big leaves, and since I’ve pruned it the leaves haven’t grown back. Actually, since pruning it I haven’t noticed the stem grow at all. It’s been 2 weeks since pruning

Do you think with the root system I have it would be alright to transfer into soil?

I am sort of addicted to growing avacado pits.

I wait for the second set of leaves and pinch the top to get it to branch.
However, I had one that had leaves shrivel and die and it regrew from just being a bare stick.
    Give it time maybe.

    My hot tip
It will grow faster in potting soil than in the water once it has an inch or two of roots.
    Use a deep container.
Throw all your pits in a ziplock with a moist paper towel.   Once you see a good tap root its a keeper.
