I wouldn’t worry. I see them pop up whenever my freshly mulched areas get really wet when it’s warm.

a sign your soil is healthy and well-watered, you should respond by being happy

I’ve had a ton of fungi start sprouting in my yard lately. Haven’t had much rain at all either

This is fruit from healthy bacteria activity in your soil.

Mushrooms are a surface sign of increasing soil fertility and health. Celebrate!
Electrochemist_2025
Celebrate. Healthy lawn.

What would you do to stop it?

Are they near a tree?
tavvyjay
I suspect these ones are all attached to some wood substrate based on their dense spread, and could be an Amillaria (honey) or something similar. As others have mentioned, they’re doing no harm and are only the fruiting body of a fungus which lives below

It’s a good sign for your soil! Those look honey mushrooms to me. Please don’t eat them without proper identification, but if they are honeys, my dad cultivates and cooks these annually 🙂

That’s just the fruiting bodies of the organism itself. It’s part of a much larger interconnected web underground that makes up a massively large network. Mushrooms themselves and the mycelium network within the soil is a fascinating thing to learn about.

If you don’t like them, you could just knock them down back into your soil. This is just a fruiting body and a very tiny portion of the actual fungus. But there’s nothing wrong with it. You have a lot of mycelium in your soil and that’s a positive.

I’ve seen a lot of similar mushrooms in my lawn after a tree is removed. I assume it’s caused by the old tree roots left behind and decomposing under ground.

Plant a few fruit trees and plant a few tomato plants.
Scalzoc
Looks like “ringless honey mushrooms”. It just means soil is healthy.
I wouldn’t do anything. it is a sign that your soil is healthy.

Just keep the dogs away from it if you have any

Respond by waiting a week and they’ll be gone.

Don’t worry, those aren’t the fun kind.
Aggressive-Secret103
As a lot of other people said they aren’t a bad thing unless you have a pet or kids that might eat them but if not you can leave them be and be happy you have good soil.
SwimOk9629

Cut back on water a little though not concerning if your plants are healthy
-ActiveSquirrel
I’d check with local groups if they are edible, cause they do look edible to me. If they are honey mushrooms they are edible
