President Donald Trump is set to host a high-profile dinner to inaugurate the newly renovated White House Rose Garden with over two dozen top tech CEOs and business leaders, including Microsoft cofounder Bill Gates, Apple CEO Tim Cook, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and leaders from AI firms like OpenAI. Yet, one major name is notably absent from the guest list: Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

The gathering aims to discuss boosting local manufacturing, job creation, and technological innovation as part of Trump’s ongoing “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) campaign. The event comes shortly after First Lady Melania Trump hosted an Artificial Intelligence summit at the White House. The dinner will be held on the newly renovated Rose Garden patio, recently transformed with tables, chairs, and umbrellas reminiscent of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club setup in Florida.

Neither Musk nor the White House has commented on his absence from the Rose Garden dinner, which comes in the wake of a very public fallout between the two. Once a close ally of the President and head of the government’s Department of Government Efficiency, Musk and Trump exchanged sharp criticisms on social media over issues like electric vehicle tax credits, government contracts, and even allegations related to the Epstein files. Additionally, Musk’s talk of launching a third political party further signals his departure from traditional Republican ties.

Although Musk has kept a low profile regarding Trump and his policies lately, and even appeared to support GOP and MAGA causes, his absence from this high-profile dinner raises questions about whether the two have fully reconciled.

Trump: ‘Musk Has No Choice But to Return to the GOP’

In a recent interview on the Scott Jennings Show, President Trump addressed Musk’s political future, insisting the billionaire entrepreneur has “no choice” but to come back to the Republican Party. Trump framed the political landscape as a choice between the GOP and what he described as “radical left lunatics.”

Despite their public feud, Trump still offered a tempered compliment to Musk, calling him “80% super genius” while acknowledging he has “some problems” to work through. “When he works out the 20%, he’ll be great,” Trump added.
