GARDENING First Look! | Podcrash Live Stream

I’m bothered by it. Hello. Welcome to the stream. Finally, we got it working. It had its moment. All right, so we are live on a brand new world with gardening and farming installed. And it kicked me out. Wow. Full screen. We are We are live. So, the plan today is to just showcase farming, well, gardening. And we’re going to build a little cottage, I think. Is that the plan? I think so. Good response. Yes. Yay. So, uh, on the server we have a couple people. So, we’ve got, uh, rank MC Doodler, PAL, and, uh, how do you say that? Um, yeah, that’s right. Okay. They are developers here. Um, we’ve also got Laser, Plum, Abby, and Answer. And these guys, they help out around. Some of them are QA, some of them are media, you know, but everyone here has kind of contributed to making this gardening add-on, and there’s already a really annoying peacock. Uh, but yeah, so let’s let’s try and build this cottage. And if anyone has questions about gardening in chat, just let us know and we’ll try and answer them as best as we can. Where has everyone gone? Power has run off, I think. Yeah, I’m off to gather some equipment. All right, where do we want to build? I’m in the woods getting different wood. I’d suggest we meet a spawn again. Yeah. Yeah, I think we’re just around the corner from it. Uh, there’s a question in the chat. Chelsea asks, “What flowers are there?” Uh, what flowers aren’t there? Is an easier question to answer. That is true. So, we’ve got a really helpful little lexicon which so with farming included um because you know, as I say, we do have that on this server. There are currently 409 plants. Uh I think gardening adds about uh 30 and something. Um, yes. Should be around the 300 mark. If we clear up this, these are all of the flowers that are added by gardening. So, as you can see, there are a lot. Oh, and apparently some of the Minecraft ones aren’t getting forward. Uh, bug dodgy dodgy development. What can I say? But yeah, you can just see how many flowers there are. We need food. I have one mutton and one raspberry. Is that enough? That will be perfect. No one’s going to be hungry on my watch. All right. I’ve also found a pear tree. So Oh, that’s a start. No partridge, but just a pear tree. Well, it’s not Christmas yet, is it? Oh, I know. We unfortunately when we’re when we make this add-on and when it gets released finally, it’s can be several months. Um, so Minecraft changes, we change, we’ve done some stuff to our add-ons since we, you know, first gave this to Microsoft. Um, and so there there’s unfortunately a couple bugs. We’ll we’ll fix it um, you know, kind of as soon as we can. Uh, what do I need? has anyone has anyone actually found any water around there. Uh I haven’t seen any like water. That was an apple tree. I knew that. So where are we building back towards spawn? Uh there is a single water source. We probably making a tiny little one. I was for myself. I don’t know if it’ll be the cottage, but I turning night. It’s a little small for a cottage a little bit. I’m lost. How did you You can use the locator bar to find other players. I’m here. Um, I think there’s some other add-ons of ours that are going to be compatible. We’re not going to show them off today cuz they’re not quite ready to show, but um they they look really cool. Well, not inside, but but in fairness, it’s saying no zombies allowed to the outside. Yeah. So, apparently every zombie is allowed in, but Yeah, Abby. Well, going back. We probably need to like I need more peach. Guys, I have 12 bone meal. Which crop should I bone meal? Just anything that brings food. Honestly, one billion. Could make some porridge. Food is vital at this point. Wait, be such a big house. I mean, how many are there? Jamie, there’s a lot of people here. Where’s my boat? We can’t all sit in like a 2x two house or whatever that is. I think it might be 3×3 or something. Wait, did you just say where’s my boat? Yeah. My house. Why are there so many boats on the roof? I thought it was a nice idea. It actually is convenient cuz that means you can go on the roof. I think it is a good idea to make the laggy world more laggy by adding boats. We love boats. We do love boats. Yeah. So, we’ve got we’ve created this world. Oh, there’s a boat in here. We created this world today just to kind of show off gardening, but farming goes really quite well with gardening. Um, oh, I lost all my books. Where did my books go? I put a bunch in the chest if you want them. And that might have been your books, to be honest. I think it I’m trying to figure out how to decorate using this. I don’t think you can. No, I I swear it could be done. Wait, I have an idea. So you can see with farming all of the seeds and saplings uh load into the lexicon. So, as you discover not only the um the gardening seeds and the vanilla seeds, um you’ll be able to discover other add-ons. Obviously on, you know, when it comes out today, it’s going to support farming, but we’ve opened the doors so anyone any add-on creator that makes themed add-ons with new plants can add easily add support for them as well. So, we’ll have to see. But I think this is probably the first the first add-on on on the marketplace that has sort of this many plants. Um, you know, for for decorative means rather than just like farming the ads. It’s getting a bit laggy on here. Darren, why are there so many boats? I’m trying to experiment. Oh. Oh, Jamie. Oh, they’re in the mirror. Actually, I should leave I should leave in there. That is a beautiful roof. Uh this question in the chat, why does the Lex lag? Uh so we the thing is it’s based on device, but we’re storing every single uh plant that can be found. And not only that, but you’re seeing, you know, dynamic data of how many plants have been discovered, how many in total. These obviously change. It’s a different word with the add-ons you have in store. Um, you’ll also see that we’re even storing things like where you first found that where that where you first found that flower. Um, there is a zombie coming after me. I was trying to go. Every flower has a really nice uh bio. Yeah, I was about Oh my god. Why are there so Why is there a baby zombie just sat in a boat? We aren’t lighting up the area enough. Problem with the lexicon is actually though that we don’t have control over how the buttons are loaded in. So all the buttons are loaded in when you open the book instead of they are loaded in as you scroll and that’s why there’s some lag when opening it initially. [Music] Uh another question, do you have plans on adding more decorations? So, with all of our add-ons, we will always do a couple of updates def like guaranteed like you’ll probably about four. We always aim for like four big updates. Um, you know, before we decide if we’re going to do more or whatever. Now, currently we we’ve we’ve done more than that for farming. We’ve done more than that. Um, we’re definitely going to do more than that for trains. Um, so we are going to add new stuff. Now, that might be more flowers. I also think we could probably um I think like a a cool idea would be maybe some more like decorative trees. Um, and then also, yeah, witchier. This is This house gets weirder and weirder every time I come out the door. Uh and yeah, like things like vanilla carts or whatever it might be. Um but what I would say is obviously we have the uh feedback or ideas website uh which is feedback.podcrash.com. Goodbye. There is now a section there for, you know, new gardening ideas. So, if you see stuff that you’re like, I really want to see that in the add-on, uh, then that’s the place to go. Like a farming house or barn or something? Um, Abby, did you not like the idea of I think we’ve spoken about Oh, we’ve talked about the idea of some abandoned barns and stuff like that before. I think the difficulty there or or not difficulty but I guess the thing the thing we want to be careful of is so many add-ons now spawn stuff into your world. um you know or add villagers or um oh we could do oak things like that that we we want to be careful of not adding or trying to spawn too much mysterious seeds yeah I I I don’t think it’s off the table like I I do think we may Oh we may do like an update at some point that adds um maybe some structures maybe some uh probably not some NPCs just because as I say that that creates so many items do it now and even with the gardening one we did it because we really want to um you know because there’s so many flowers we want to make sure that you can easily discover them all um because it’s not like not here though on the with the gardening villager, the gardening trader. You will only find him in the cottages. He will not like spawn around the world. It’s not a one. Exactly. And yeah, K, we saw we saw Ekko mention that the p the dings are a bit um can probably be quite annoying. I think in future we’ll probably add a way to disable those sounds. Um, you know, in the in the same way we tend to do it with uh settings in farming or RPG or anything like that. Uh, we yeah, I think when we were testing it, when we were playing it, we didn’t find it that annoying, but then we also added the peacock sound. So, our tolerance our tolerance is quite high for that. Right guys, I found a village. I’ll bring food and beds for everyone. Wait, we’re building a little cottage and we could just move to a village. No, he’s raiding the village. Raiding the village for stuff for us. Stealing. Oh, there’s actually, to be fair, it is a panda appropriating. There is a uh wandering trader that’s just turned up. Yeah, I just saw it. What does he want? A wandering trader. I wish I wish there was a set in that you could uh you can never absolutely never. Those peacocks are part of the family. You can’t you can’t do it to them like that. If you have been near a peacock in real life though, they do just they are obnoxiously annoying. Yeah, they scream all the time. Like it’s very realistic. Where is the peacock? I want to keep him. It’s because they’re assuming the gnome comes alive and protects the plants. Oh, we need that is a thing we are planning on doing. That gnome needs to live. Yeah. The moment they was just a fight. Yes. Yeah. But we are planning to uh make him act a bit like the scarecrow. Um you know that it will protect your your flowers from moles. Um and also I think it would be funny to to make him come alive maybe at night. Um yeah, was the it was the plan. Um we just ran into a few technical issues, but we fixed them now. So, we should get them. I think gnomes gnomes will probably be part of like the first update we do. Um, and no, there’s no settings for gardening because it’s quite chill. There’s not going to be uh moles really don’t do that much if any damage damage, but they’re not going to moles aren’t going to be as annoying as like crows in farming. Uh, I just found one. You know, we’ve been here for well an hour now or so and we’ve not run into any moles that have destroyed our flowers or anything like that. So, we have toned them down a lot. So, they’re far more relaxed. Um, you know, I can to I can totally understand why crows would have been why we had to disable crows, but yeah, they’re nothing. They’re nothing alike. You’ll be you’ll be absolutely fine. Your garden will be plenty. We’ll be very safe. What has this house turned into? Oh [ __ ] Like every time I come past it, it gets somehow worse and worse. No. So, um, mow down Jamie’s flower bed. So, we’ve got Ivy, which acts. Okay. Apparently, I I think unfortunately this world’s getting a bit laggy with uh with just how many people are on there. Uh Minecraft’s not used to having this many people. Um and no, I mean, the flowers aren’t a problem. They won’t actually The flowers won’t actually cause any lag. They’re all blocks. Um but yeah, so we’ve got ivy and ivy acts uh similar to vines. We’ve not gone too far into um sort of hanging plants in that way. Uh but I definitely think we could. I’ll be honest, we had to learn a lot about flowers to make this. Um, so we there’s still a lot more to learn and a lot more to to add. I think there’s still, you know, there’s still countless flowers and varieties that we’ve missed or or that we just didn’t have time to do. Um, now is there a reason that you’re targeting me? Who? I didn’t do anything. He’s stealing. He’s stealing my Don’t Help. He just killed someone help me. He just killed our peacock. Someone help me. Is that about me killing the peacock?
