helppp😭 pump problems ???

my frog tank sprung a leak 3 days ago so i took out the water while i figured out a plan. yesterday, i redid the silicone on the edges both inside and out to be sure about it. today, i refilled the water and all was well EXCEPT not the water fountain in there is giving me sh*t and i’ve been trying to get it to work for 4 hours and i’ve lost all my patience. i fill the water part, it won’t turn on til it’s almost overflowed to the edge. it starts working, takes water out of the reservoir thing, then overflows the fucking reservoir thing over 5 min??? then i have to empty it a little bit so it doesn’t flood my desk, then the fountain stops, then eats up like an inch of water so i fill it a little again, then the fountain starts again but in weird pulses? and its a vicious cycle. i’m fed up👹 and as im typing this, the fountain started working for like 10 min but NOW as of this very moment isn’t working yet i still hear the pump and the water level is maxed out ??? what’s happening 😭
