Housesitting and some of my grandmother's plants have tiny white dots on them and when I took a zoomed in pic, looks like some kind of little bug. She has neem oil which says it's for plant pests under her sink but I wanted to ask to make sure that would work for whatever this is.

Yes, if you can get them in a shower to rinse off the leaves first then spray the neem oil and quickly 😅 keep out of sun/plant lights until the leaves dry

Get a deodorant spray and a lighter then burn those MFs.

You can temporarily, submerge an entire plant in water, 5 gallon bucket, bath tub. 2 minutes and they’ll all be drowned.

You could try and save it. I would not. That is sicko much. Throw it out 😂🤞🔥

Strongly disagree with the thrips diagnosis, in my opinion these look like aphids, specifically the white shed exoskeletons of a ton of aphids

Castile soap + neem oil mixed then add to water flip plant over into that mix dieeeeeee

Kill it with fire. That’s all I have to say.

Run a bath, deep enough to drown the plant and hold it under for a while. If you have cold press neem oil, then pop some in the bath as well. Warm water, not cold. Don’t want to shock the plant. Spray neem oil the sh*t out of the plant and give it a good wipe down. I would isolate this plant from other plants.

It is Aphids. Take it into the shower. Use warm water and spray the **** out of it. Aphids are not as bad as others. You may have to repeat with the water. Spray after with neem, etc. Isolate. I just did a birch tree that was loaded. I could use cold water and a hose on it. Then I it sprayed it with hydrogen peroxide mixed with water. Killed the Aphids but not the tree.

If you can take it outside amd this step is very important, grab the gasoline and a match. You know what you have to do.

On a serious note hose this thing down ASAP either outside or in the shower. Isolate it from all other plants. After its hosed off stray it down with diluted (water) alcohol keep it separated from all other plants until this passes. If you have other plants that were near this one inspect IMMEDIATELY!

Lmao I stg follow this sub mostly for reaction pics lol

Whatever it is, id give it a good rinse in the sink which should get rid of most of it, esp the stickiness if its aphids. Then neem.

I had a zebra plant that looked exactly like this lol. Definitely aphids and not thrips. 70% Isopropyl alcohol was effective in treating them, but the plant eventually died anyway. A plant doesn’t get an infestation like this from being healthy in the first place. Maybe try a systemic. Imo these dudes are hard to keep alive and healthy.

Aphids are actually one of the easiest pest to treat. Sure the excess of “shells” makes it look like there’s an unsolvable infestation but you can remove them easily. You just need consistency. I used earths ally 3 in 1. Only at night time. Once every 3 days. Then once a week. You do need to remove them manually. And probably change the soil. But totally salvageable if you want to put in the work.

Throw that plant in the garbage and set fire on it. pray overnight for a meteorite to hit it.

Just the exoskeletons of a shit load of aphids. As far as indoor plant pests go, aphids are fairly easy to exterminate.
