Let’s face it, gardening is one of the most therapeutic tasks to do at home. It’s calming and soothing, plus you can really take your time nurturing all your plants and flowers.
However, with autumn pretty much here, dealing with leaves can become a bit of a nuisance. Typically, you might leave them to blow away, or hire someone to do the job for you, but either way, they can become quite bothersome.
So if you’re in need of a clever gardening hack, over on X, formerly Twitter, the Today Years Old account, which boasts 1 million followers, shared a method.
The caption read: “Work smarter, not harder.” This was accompanied by a video showing a woman grabbing a black bin bag and getting to work.
The nifty trick involves a bin bag(Image: X)
She placed the bag on her feet and slowly swept up all the leaves into the bag – without any stress or fuss whatsoever.
And just like that, all the leaves are in the bag, ready to be put into your recycling for collection.
A pack of 20 bin bags can be picked up for £2.50 from Tesco which works out to 25p per bag. Gardeners can also pick them up from Asda with a 20 pack coming in at £2.28 which works out to 11.4p each.
Even though people thought the hack was really useful, they pointed out that it’s not very environmentally friendly.
One person queried: “I will never understand why we put leaves in plastic bags..”
Another commented: “Trying to workout how I can incorporate this into cleaning my house.”
While a third praised: “Smart lady!” However, not everyone was impressed as they’ve come across the hack before.
Someone chimed in: “Been doing that since I was a teen, next!”.
