Greetings!

I just got a few huge cuttings of these white ghosts and I've never really had these until now.

so redditors of euphorbiaceae, I got a few questions

  1. How long do I need to dry them out (before planting)?

  2. Is it okay if I divide them up into sections (between the 'joints' per se)?

  3. What kind of medium do I need to plant them in?

  4. What are its watering and sunlight needs?

  5. Can I pot them in a completely inorganic medium?

I hope my questions get answered because I really do not want these to go to waste đŸ„č

Thank you very much đŸ™‡â€â™‚ïž

    1. Wear gloves. You don’t want the milk getting on your skin when you cut it. Also, run the cuttings under cold water until the milk coagulates and no longer is seeping out. Place on a shelf with good airflow and let the cuttings callous over for a few days.

    2. Yes, chop them up into smaller cuttings the way you pictured if that’s what you’re wanting.

    3. Depending on your location but a good starting point is 50/50 organic to inorganic. I use pumice and a good soil mix.

    4. Also depends on your location. I’m in Texas and it’s hot and we don’t get much rain, so I water weekly. Also, depends on your soil mixture and ratios. Good staring point with a 50/50 mix would be every two weeks and then adjust accordingly.

Side note; don’t water until the cuttings are showing roots.

    5. Yes. You’ll need to water more and fertilize frequently.

    Hope this helps.
