Okay I will try to make it short. Another great growing season but still no flowers.
I see flowers on tiny, what seems to be rooted tip cuts in various posts on this sub.
Maybe it's not enough sun (about 8-10h of sunlight, maybe a little more depends on the spot on the balcony.
Grown in central Europe
I feed quite heavy 3-6-6 in growing season, occasional pee tek lol
Hibernation at around 10-18°c celsius (I know could be colder, but that's the range in the stairway I can provide). Too cold or too risky to let them outside during winter (I had some test specimen that survived, some died during a really cold phase (minus degrees for a couple of days). They can handle around freezing quite well for a couple of hours or even days). But I don't want to risk it with the nice big ones.
Other cacti flower no problem (incl. Lophs). Maybe I am impatient lol! Some of them are more than 10y old.
Tips? I appreciate any input for the next growing season!

I have read somewhere that a cold period in winter can help. But no first hand experience, my san pedros arent so big as yours yet

I started using worm castings this season to fertilize my cactus, and man, have my cactus been popping off with flowers. I’m pretty sure it is because of it, though, because all my bushes that produce flowers also went nuts this year.

I would suggest a great fertilizer also!

I am pretty sure we got it down. It goes a little something like this:

    * a season of lots of nutes
    * then a super dry season with high UV / stressors
    * by the following season youll have plants that think they need to spread their genetic material to survive and push blooms… even if younger… its a delicate balance but its been working, we have gotten 2-3 year old plants to bloom using this technique

A lot of things can HELP trigger flowering , but in my experience there isn’t one particular thing that will definitely get you blooms .

Here’s are some things that do help –
. -A warm up in spring (which requires some cold during winter) .

.A heavy feeding of bloom nutrients at the end of winter , right before spring .

.Holding back nutrients high in nitrogen in spring and summer.

.A increase in day length after a period of longer dark nights.

Here’s a [VIDEO ABOUT GETTING CACTUS TO BLOOM !](https://youtu.be/ghjzlVbQgp0?si=1gHVR_oeJNosopKs)

Hope that some of these tricks work for you and ya get Blooms next spring!! 🤗🌵🌸🌼🪷

I have had a bloom or three going every day for a month straight. I came home today and my Zed’s 16” tall graft was blooming…

I’m on the CA coast, and this is the warmest time of year and all of these guys have been blooming. I have been feeding them pretty regularly as well. They are is well draining soil. Sometimes real life gets in the way and they go a few days with dry soil, which could cause a little stress. I think heat, nutrients, and dash of stress will give you blooms.

I am also still yet to get a flower (on a Trich), so I can’t provide advice, but your plants are gorgeous. I hope next season brings flowers.
