TRAPPED In Her Own HOME – She Never Thought I Would Do THIS



Hey friends!! This weeks free yard transformation was crazy and I can’t wait for you to see this one!

When I was driving past this property I noticed a massive Bird of Paradise plant in the middle of the yard that looked like it had not been looked after in about 10 years! Upon further inspection I could see that there was a lot at this property that needed to be cleaned up and restored.
The grass was getting quite long and thick and there were oxalis weeds growing all throughout parts of it, and all through the garden beds. The Roses needed pruning, lots of pathways had been completely covered up and over taken by grass, but what really stood out to me was the area in between her front door and the garage. It was completely overtaken by Ivy, which was growing up the walls and even made its way into the front windows! To say this stuff was a pest is putting it nicely.

I stopped and knocked on the door to see if I could help out the homeowner and I was greeted by Teresa. She was telling me that her home had been broken into twice recently and was having such a bad couple of weeks because of this. She was even locked in her own home because the thieves that broke in also stole her door keys! I was so glad to have run into Teresa, and hoped that this would bring a smile back to her face and give her a bit of relief, as a tidy garden is a big stress relief!

Garden transformation video and if you’re new to the channel
Welcome I’m so glad that you found your way here You’re going to have a great time trust me This channel is all about going around my community and helping people out with their neglected gardens So I was driving past this property and I had noticed a humongous Bird of Paradise that was just staring at me It had so many dead leaves and flowers all throughout it It looked like it hadn’t been pruned in probably 10 years and then upon further inspection I could see that there were just roses that were overgrown
out the front All the garden beds were just completely over run with
Oxalis weeds and grass growing through everything Some of this grass again, if you’ve seen some of my videos was just like rope It was so hard to get through this stuff I had to use a combination of my mower, my whipper snipper, my bladed edger Also looking at the driveway that was quite overgrown with grass It was creeping onto the driveway from both sides Needed to be completely cut back But then what really surprised me was when I saw this area that was next to her front door and the driveway and it was just completely overtaken with Ivy It was trying to grow into her window It had just taken over the whole area
There were no paths left And there were also so many dead leaves in this area
that I had to clean out You wait until you see what I’ve done with this place I reckon you’re going to be pretty shocked
at the before and afters on this one So I stopped my Ute I knocked on the front door
and I was greeted by Teresa and she had told me that she had just been broken into twice
in the past couple of weeks They had taken all of her house keys all of her bank cards everything She couldn’t even get out of her house because
she was locked in because she had no key But she was waiting for a locksmith later on that day so that she could actually get out But I was so glad to have run into Teresa because of
what she had just been through and I think that this would have been a huge stress that had been

so thankyou So sit back guys, relax Go get a coffee, go get a wine, go get a water whatever is your preference and enjoy this video because it’s going to be a good one See ya So if you guys are new to the channel You might not know why the grass is going brown I’ve actually got this on my highest setting on the mower But because this Kikuyu doesn’t get any sun at the bottom
it goes brown It’s not actually dead but only the top half goes green
because that’s what’s getting sun So the same with that strip that was along the driveway That’s actually quite high But it looks brown because the bottom half of the grass wasn’t
getting any sun I don’t think my mower is going to be able to get through that It just keeps getting clogged so Going to whipper snipper it So if you guys haven’t seen what the Kikuyu grass that we have
here in South Australia is like It is like rope Let me just quickly show you for anyone that’s new to the channel I have to deal with this stuff all the time But this stuff is so thick my mower can’t deal with it and my whipper snipper and my edger have trouble so Have to use a combination of things In my last video I had to use a hedge trimmer to get through this stuff Alright this stuff is not coming out by hand weeding I’m just going to hand weed around the daisies
and then whipper snipper all the rest Alright so if you haven’t seen one of these before These are called a Bird of Paradise The main reason being because the flower looks like a bird As you can possibly see But this has so many dead flowers all over it So we’re going to get rid of all the dead flowers and then get rid of the grass that’s growing all throughout it Every single dead flower gone All the grass gone But now the air can get through and it can breathe again and it’s going to look much better So look who I’ve just spotted next to me that is finally here
and ready to pick out all the grubs I’m almost starting to believe that it’s the same one
following me everywhere Alright so Teresa didn’t want me cutting too much of this stuff back But I just wanted to cut everything back from the walkway
to make a nice clear path on both sides There was one last thing I wanted to do before we go and that is to chop this branch off because it has hit me in the head

    I wonder if you ever go back to the houses you cleaned up to see how they are doing?
    This house for instance with all the rose bushes and Bird of Paradise plants. I’d love to see them recuperating. Just a thought.

    My 70 yr old neighbor rakes her dry crispy leaves onto the lawn and mows them into the grass catcher. You can mow up 4 bags of whole leaves in one catcherload, AND they’re lightweight! Then use those chopped up leaves as free mulch. I copied her, it’s awesome.

    Great work except please don’t mow so short. Wouldn’t the lady like to see some green rather than brown? 🤷‍♀️ Maybe offer a discount for a future maintenance mow instead of taking it so short. Enjoyed knowing that you kindly helped a person out though.

    I wonder why the house owner is trapped inside her house after all of her keys had been stolen… something is odd about her explanation. Maybe you should visit her again and check on her if she's allright.
