This is the first mossarium I have ever built and I need some advice, firstly, due to it's open top nature, how often should I water, one source said every three days, another said 1-2 weeks, so i am quite confused. Have been going with light watering every three days. The second question in just if the mossarium looks like it was built well, and if i should make any meaningfull changes to ensure the survival of my moss. The moss types are mood and pillow moss

  1. Firstly your soil mix don’t look nutrition rich (what you use as substrate??)

You can’t determine watering with other sources… You have to see moisture cycle of your mossarium, if you see top layer drying too quickly you have to water accordingly… And always use rain water or dischild water…

If it’s open water will evaporated quickly… So try with Lid with small hole in it… It will increase moisture in the setup… Also it will hold water for long time…

    Hope this will help ☘️

  2. From what i know more typically don’t require nutritious soil to get by. Feel free to correct me, angry Redditor, wherever you are.

There are channels I’ve watched on YouTube that use small gravel as the medium to hold moss.
