Hi! I Purchased this orchid at a garden shop a few months ago and it had no real identifiable name on the pot or with it anywhere. What do I have? It currently doesn’t look like this, all blooms are gone but I just want to know so I can better take care of it. Thank you!

If you are a beginner and purchased your orchid at a grocery store, more than likely it is of the genus Phalaenopsis. Most common orchids, especially Phalaenopsis, are hybrids and it is difficult or impossible to identify the name. This isn’t to say your orchid can’t be identified. In many cases, it might be possible to somewhat identify the parents of your orchid.

Could it be a Dendrobium Chocolate Chip?
A Latouria type Dedrobium. If I had to be specific I’d guess Chocolate Chip. Does it kind of smell like cookies or cinnamon?
Maybe little Norman
Latouria Dendrobium. Can’t tell real name, but for sure is a latouria den hybrid.

This looks like my Little Normans:)

they have a really amazing, sweet cinnamon smell every morning. I bought mine back in, maybe, February? And they’re already growing 5-8 new pseudo bulbs.
Wow this is so gorgeous!
Dendrobium ‘Spotted Poni’
100% Little Norman. Looks exactly like it, especially given the purple lip. Chocolate chip dendrobiums don’t have a dark purple lip, just some pink stripes in the lip.
