I have a jar of pond basically that I've had for a few months. It mostly has leeches and water slaters in along with various tiny water things (I'm sorry idk what to call them đ). I went on holiday for a week and came back to the water level being significantly lower and this weird layer on top of the water? I don't know if what caused it and if I need to remove it, please help

Looks like a biofilm. If you have planted green plants in the water, they’ll keep it clean. Hornwort, guppy grass and pearl weed are easy to keep.
Duckweed doesn’t do much for the water unfortunately.
Biofilm made by a excessive colony of microorganisms. Typically harmless and is good food for residents. It can possibly hurt your jar from being oxygenated. I would just top it off with water and monitor it looking for changes in activity. And maybe get some underwater plants for oxygen production
