Are you ready to head home from the Jersey Shore? Traffic is building on major roadways as more people leave the Shore after a beautiful Labor Day weekend.

Here’s the latest on roads around Monmouth and Ocean counties:

6-mile delay on Parkway in Middletown

There is a 6-mile delay on the northbound Garden State Parkway in the local and express lanes, from just north of Exit 109 to just south of Exit 114 in Middletown, at 4:33 p.m.

More Parkway delays in Monmouth

At 3:49 p.m., there were delays and pockets of volume on the Garden State Parkway local lanes northbound in Monmouth County, from south of Exit 105 at Route 36 in Tinton Fallas to north of Exit 109 in Middletown. That’s a 6-mile delay.

8-mile delay on Parkway in Monmouth County

As of 3:43 p.m., there are delays and pockets of volume on the Parkway northbound local lanes from the Asbury Toll Plaza in Tinton Falls to north of Exit 109 in Middletown. That’s an 8-mile delay.

Delays on Route 35 north in Brick, Bay Head

At 3:20 p.m., there are delays on Route 35 northbound from south of Curtis Point Drive in Brick to Johnson Street in Bay Head.

1 1/2-mile delay on Parkway in Monmouth County

As of 3:04 p.m., there are delays on the parkway’s northbound local lanes from north of Exit 105 at Route 36 to South of Exit 109 (county road 520) in Tinton Falls. The 1 1/2-mile delay is caused by traffic volume.

4-mile delay on the Parkway in Ocean County

Traffic is backed up on the Parkway northbound from just north of the Toms River Toll Plaza in Toms River to north of Exit 90 (route 549/Chambersbridge Road) in Brick, at 2:45 p.m. The four-mile delay is due to volume.

Parkway delays in Middletown

As of 2:22 p.m.,there is a one-mile delay on the Garden State Parkway northbound from north of Exit 109 (county road 520) to south of Exit 114 (Red Hill Road) in Middletown, due to volume.

Parkway delays at Toms River Toll Plaza

There are delays on the Garden State Parkway northbound, approaching the Toms River Toll Plaza in Toms River, due to volume, at 1:51 p.m.

As of 1:40 p.m., there are delays on NJ 35 northbound from South of Curtis Point Drive in Brick to Johnson Street in Bay Head. All lanes open.

As of 1:18 p.m., there are delays on the Garden State Parkway northbound from North of Toms River Toll Plaza to North of Exit 90 – CR 549/Chambers Bridge Rd in Brick due to volume.

As of 12:56 p.m. there are delays on the Garden State Parkway northbound approaching Toms River Toll Plaza in Dover Township due to volume.

As of 12:14 p.m., there is a four-mile back-up on the Garden State Parkway northbound from north of Toms River Toll Plaza in Toms River to north of Exit 90 – CR 549/Chambers Bridge Road in Brick due to volume.

As of 11:36 a.m., there are delays on NJ 72 northbound from CR 20/Jennings Rd to Mermaid Drive in Stafford Township. All lanes open.

As of 10:56 a.m, there is a 1.5-mile delay on the Garden State Parkway northbound from South of Exit 89C – Lakewood/Airport Road in Lakewood to north of Exit 90 – CR 549/Chambers Bridge Road in Brick Township due to volume.

There are also delays on NJ 35 northbound from South of Curtis Point Drive in Brick to Johnson Street in Bay Head. All lanes are open.
