I had a great and joyful harvest this weekend, then packed it up in this old Johnny’s box and thought it was worth snapping a picture before I ate it all!

And now I’m thinking, what do I plant next? Well…what do you plant next?? I’m thinking lettuce, and what else? MD-US

Im in the UK but Israel weather has turned cooler this past week, sunshine is gone. I’ve started a lot of salad veg, and spring onions and cabbage for next spring.

Other than that it’ll be quiet til the spring again.

Radicchio, collards, kale, escarole, turnips, beets, curly endive, daikon radish. You probably should have started some of those earlier inside but try a few.

First of all, grow what you like eating. Makes the whole experience much more rewarding and frictionless 👌

I like planting arugula, radish and daikon along with the fall lettuce planting, these give me salads all the way through winter and spring, until it’s time to transition to summer crops. I do only have an apartment balcony to work with, so these work pretty well. Thought about getting some bok choy, but if I had a garden I’d definitely throw in some beets, carrots, broccoli, garlic, cabbage, brussel sprouts… Plenty of options, fall is a great time of year 🍁

I direct sowed collard greens and Swiss chard a couple weeks ago. I may start garlic soon.

I have 100 dollars worth of seeds in my fedco cart.

Seeded lettuce and chives yesterday. Also daikon and cover crops in a raised bed where I dumped a bunch of crap fill dirt I had lying around.

  9. I’m starting cabbage seeds inside to plant in a cold frame. Direct sow, I’m doing green beans, radishes, and whatever other seeds jump out at me from my stash. Zone 6b here.

Oh, and thank you for asking this question! It’s a gorgeous day out, but I was starting to feel like a nap inside would be good. You inspired me to get out and plant. Napping will happen later!

Powdery mildew. That seems to be the only thing that survives.

I’ve planted beets, green onions, and collard greens. Squirrels dug up the collards because I foolishly didn’t protect them, so I’ll have to try again. When it gets a bit cooler I’m going to plant arugula. (Also MD)

Zone 10a here… New round of tomatoes, kale, collards, beets, lettuce. Shade cloth as it’s 95 deg for the next week (ugh).

I tip my hat to anyone who still wants to plant more at this time of year. By now I’m thinking “maybe I don’t really like plants all that much” lol. It’s been a bountiful harvest and I’m exhausted!

No clue what zone i’m in but i just planted cabbage and broccoli. Anyone able to tell me how long to water them for? I currently have it set at 2:30am for a half hour.

The deer ate my new plantings🥹, so I’m calling it quits for the year and focusing on getting my outdoor houseplants re-potted and ready to come inside for the winter. And of course harvesting everything that will be coming in before the frost!!

I’m in zone 6a and I planted a couple different lettuce, three different radishes and sugar snap peas, last week!
