First time, started this eco from our local lake. Can anyone help identify these guys? What are some good resources to start looking at for identification?
Any tips for keeping this alive and thriving? It has plants, moss, sediment, some rocks, shells, etc.
We made four different jars as a science project for my son.

Are the plants aquatic plants which you took from inside the water? For me they look a lot like leafs from trees… Also are there 2 caterpillars? If you took the plant material from a tree or a ground plant it wont work, and then I would suggest that these 2 worm like things are caterpillars which will drown soon.
If the plants are actually aquatic plants it should be fine.
For my taste I would add more of them also to ensure enough oxygen production. đ

I would say the buzzers in there are ostracods it’s hard to see. The pics in there will help you confirm it. Or not :).
