You’re blessed to have this beautiful plant right in your yard. I would be sniffing it every chance I got. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy!

What do you do to get this to bloom? I’ve gotten fertilizer and it’s green as anything but it will not bloom zone 9b here.

We’re currently in the same zone!! I haven’t crossed a garden or property that grows gardenia like you. How lovely to have this perfume your yard. It inspires me to grow these ☺️. I originally grew up in zone 10b where gardenia grows so so well. The nostalgia of coming home to the smell of gardenia during high school brings back great memories ✨

I’m also in 8a, and our gardenia bloomed early summer as usual, but I noticed the other day, it’s all bloomed out again!
My hibiscus also usually bloom, then take a break and come back later. But they’ve all been blooming the entire summer! It’s been an odd season.

They are going crazy in my 7b/8a area. They smell great even when fading.
