Why are my pothos leaves turning yellow and dropping off? She was a gift from my daughter and I've had her probably about a year now and she was doing great, but in the last couple of months she's been doing this. I bought a moisture meter and just moved her to this north facing window last week. What am I doing wrong?

Could you be overwatering?
The only thing I can think of at this point is that she’s in a self watering pot. I really don’t like those and I tried to pull the bottom off but couldn’t. So I’m wondering by this point if I need to change pots. I bought the moisture meter to make sure I don’t over water because I thought maybe that was the problem.
Do you ever use fertilize when watering?

This is what I’m using, my daughter said she uses it and hers does fine even her philodendrons.
I would repot. I’m not a fan of those pots. I also would switch to a liquid fertilizer. You have a good location so she should be thriving.
No I haven’t. I was thinking that would have to be my next move. Just wanted to post here to see what to get suggestions from other pathos parents. I really want to help her the best way I can.
I never use self-watering pots because it always causes issues.
So it’ll be ok if it gets dry between watering? Thank you so much for all the advice and I will repot it into a better pot.
U lost many leaves…and are still losing. Check the roots. Id change the planter and the soil and use an organic fertilizer.
Most likely overwatering, pothos prefer to fully dry out between waterings and don’t mind low humidity levels. So it’s honestly safer to under-water and wait an extra week after the top soil fully dries out before adding more.
I would take her out of the self watering pot and repot her into something with good drainage. Then just leave her be if the soil is already moist. If it’s not, I’d still not water her after repotting for a few days as she acclimates
A lot of people don’t use proper aroid soil for these. They thrive in aerated soils, and hate compaction of commercial soils. Ideally you buy a bag in soil, and amend the dirt so it is chunky and aerated. Let me know if you want a recipe or you can buy it premade, it’s just pricey.
Your leaves looked stressed and you may have some root rot.
I also agree on the pot, get a normal pot with drainage hole.
I thought you were going to say it’s too long. I have the opposite problem. Mine is growing like crazy because it’s in my fish tank. I have too much but it just keeps growing. 😅 Its vines have grown about four times around an 8×5 foot room and in two different directions.
I agree with the others. Could be stagnate water sitting around. Might need to repot with new soil. Maybe add a lite fertilizer.

I was told and has never let me down yet, This See how your leaves curl/cup up?! That’s from over watering, if you under water they will wilt and/or curl down.
Helped me out when I started my pothos collection a few yrs ago. Hope that helps yours also.
