Highlighting another of our #SpokaneScape Pros: Richard of Garden Landscapes! 🌱

Richard is passionate about helping folks in Spokane achieve the #WaterWise landscape of their dreams. 🌻 He takes inspiration from nature, and he’s a big fan of drought-tolerant plants – both natives, and those adapted to live here that benefit biodiversity.

If you want your own SpokaneScape but don’t want to go the DIY route, check out Garden Landscapes and all our other SpoPros at SpokaneScape.org.

I think any homeowner should consider Spokansscape. You can reduce your water bill. You can get the nice rebate. For example, at my own home garden, um I water four times a year. They’re not like this secret type of weird new plant, you know, it’s just plants that you know already. Uh for instance, lavender. There’s a lot of herbs. After you’ve uh gone and been inspired by nature and by some pretty good plantings around town and you’ve done your homework, start to do some drawings, you know, of what you think you might want. Keep it simple. Don’t put too many things in. You design out problems. You know, you know that you leave soil exposed, there’s going to be a lot of weeds blowing. Design is also being timely. You know, doing things at the right time. Don’t rush. Often there’s a get it done sort of in the weekend attitude to a lot of these sort of projects. And it needs a little bit more thought and care, I think, to be successful. At the same time, it’s not difficult. It’s not brain surgery. You know, we can all do this. You just have to go about it the right way.
