Just picked up this baby for $5. She has an almost velvet texture, any clue what she might be?

looks like an alocaisa. get the plant identifier app and confirm. she’s cute, and you’re a good plant parent for seat belting her🌿

*Anthurium*, probably *Anthurium crystallinum* or a hybrid of it

Anthurium grower of 7 years here. Its probably a hybrid. The petiole looks smooth, so probably not an Anthurium magnificum hybrid. Could be A. crystallinum, but the veins and growth pattern look like a young Anthurium regale to me.

Don’t let Anthurium go dry for long, they like constant moisture but cant stay soggy wet for too long so it needs a chunky mix.
I use selfwatering pots, else I wouldn’t be able to keep up with watering. The plants meow on YouTube has a great basic anthurium care video.
