Hey! Beginner hobbyist here! Just bought this Strelitzia Reginae/Nicolai, it has massive roots, does this mean I should be repotting it already?

Thank you all for the replies, on it 😀

I read/learned to only go up 2″ of a pot size at a time, wonder in this case if a 2″ jump is enough?! 🙂

Do you know if it’s a Reginae, or a Nicolai?

How do you tell the difference??

Yes, with a coarse potting medium

If it’s *S. reginae,* it will grow up to 2m tall when happy. If *S. nicolai*, you need a double-height conservatory as it can get to 7m!

If you don’t want to grow it larger, you can prune the roots and replant in same pot with fresh soil.

Why do roots amaze me? Wild looking
