I hack and squirted a mix of Triclopyr, water and a surfactant. Soaked the chemical mix in a paper towel afterwards and wrapped it in tin foil around the lower part of the trunk. Should I give it another application or is it safe to cut it and treat the stump? Been fighting this for 3 years now lol

It looks promising but honestly you’ll never know for sure if you got every living bit until you find out if any pop up again next year. That particular section in the photo is clearly dead, though, if that is your question.

I am confused, isn’t this just one plant growing up in the middle of another? it looks like you killed the middle one but the other one is still alive and kicking. am I missing something here?

edit: I see the one that’s dead looks like tree of heaven, I guess that’s the only one we’re talking about here. my bad.

Looks like your method is working. I’m curious what the advise is, because many of us have a similar issue.

Cut it out and see what happens next year.
