This year was one of my most successful yet, grew 21 tomato plants and ten varieties. All plants did pretty well. Grew a bunch of other veggies as well. However, the biggest bummer has been this early fall weather. I’m in northwest Connecticut, zone 5b I believe. I cut my first ripe slicer on August 8th, and on August 18th it was as though someone flipped the switch on summer. We’ve had some hot days since then (barely cracking 70° daily now), but have had several nights down in the low 40s. My plants were looking like they were set to pump out tons of fruit, but now it seems they are slowing. Ten days between first ripe tomato and start of fall weather is too short! I feel like it came a few weeks too early this year. I’ve harvested loads over the past three weeks but don’t want it to stop. Wouldn’t be surprised if we get frost a month sooner than last year! Anyway, that’s all, wish we had a few more weeks of 80° days.

The cooler weather helps with the ripening but yes a few more warm days would be nice and a late frost even better!
