[Music] What’s up, guys? Today is August 26, 2025. Thought I’d get out here and shoot a little summer update video. Uh, been out here watering. It’s about 6:00 in the evening. Uh, feels glorious out here about probably less than 80 degrees right now. And I thought I’d get out here, show you some stuff that maybe I didn’t show in previous videos. maybe give you u little info on what I plan to do in certain spots, areas I tend to change uh or you know stuff I need to prune up or move or whatever. But uh so it’s been a while. So I just want to get out here and shoot maybe hopefully just a little 10-minute video. I’m not going to do a walk through today. Still got a lot of stuff to do in the backyard and the front. Uh hopefully I’m gonna get mulch coming in in the next week or so and uh get all that taken care of. I still got a lot of weeding to do in the front yard over here. I got to wash the siding. It’s a little dirty. Looks bad, but uh thought I’d get on here and uh show you some stuff that maybe you hadn’t seen in previous videos and share some uh info on maybe things I plan on doing in the future. So uh going to turn this camera around and get going. All right, guys. I’m going to start you off in the front yard. This is the west side. Uh looking pretty bad right now. Got a rose bush right here. I’m getting ready to take out that’s uh been invaded with some kind of vine that’s growing all through here. Um I’m thinking about whacking these uh porcia way down. Um probably I don’t know a foot or so high. Give them a refresh. I got a uh shast viiberum here that’s I guess it’s taken off from this one and rooted in. I don’t know if you can tell, but this one, this shasta viburnum will come out. I got a Jerry Schwarz planted back here, guys. You have to use your imagination. This uh this all be changed hopefully hopefully before this fall, which is in less than a month, guys. So, I’m excited about that. But uh got a Jerry Schwarz that I planted there. Looking good. Doing good. So, it’ be nice to fill this uh fill this space right here. You get these whacked back maybe to a foot or so high. Uh what else can I show you? Got this uh bald cypress here. And I can’t recall the name of it right now. Uh for some reason, I’ll put it on the screen. It’s about it’s probably 12 14 foot high. And I try to keep it trimmed. I know somebody else does this. They keep it trimmed. Got to keep it thin. But it’s getting a little bit more challenging. as it’s getting taller. As you can see, got a Naruto tried it maple. Looking good. It’s put on about a foot of growth, foot or so of growth. It’s well close to a foot, maybe seven or eight inches, but you see all this new growth here generated up. It’s doing okay. Uh I put this in uh I don’t know a month or so ago, maybe. This is a Takis Wonder. This is a three gallon Takis wonder that I was able to buy. This camera will focus. Camera on this phone stinks. Need a new phone or a GoPro or something. Anyway, it’s got roots on it. Root flare. Got some nice feet right here on the corner of the house. Don’t look at the side. I got to get that. Uh, see what I was going to show. I planted a uh, El Nino tatapa here, but I think this is actually I’m going to move this to the backyard and getting ready to wash the side and doing all that. That’s gross, ugly, embarrassed of that. Just recently went through here and weeded this. Got mulberry weed already coming back up. I’ve sprayed it. See what happens. Um, what else can I show you? All right, this is a Mystic Jewel. Can’t remember how long ago I planted. a year or so, year and a half maybe. But it is done shot up. I mean, all this right here, this is all new growth. That’s probably two foot of growth easy. And I came out here and just uh staked it up yesterday best I could. So, it’s doing good. Hot tamalei still looking good. Growing. Got still got the hanging baskets on the porch. You can tell got two fountain of use right there. Right there. That’s a ghost dragon. That’s probably the the worst looking one of the bunch. This is a hoszora right here. That hanging basket looking decent. See, I got a blue pearl. Still looking good. Guys, keep keep an eye on them conifers, especially this time of year. They get dry. Once they get dry, it’s uh really hard to bring them back. U this is a my Macawa. I think I bought this 2021 maybe. And it’s uh you can see all the new growth that all the new growth from here up. So, it’s it’s starting to look starting to look pretty good. Pretty good. You got a thick uh thick base on it if you can see that. Try to zoom in. Can’t zoom in. Stupid phone. All right. Red panda still putting out some secondary flushes as you can see there. Looking really good. Aby’s weeping. has looked extraordinary all season. You got a little bit of uh you got a little dry a few times or it doesn’t get a whole lot of sun. Um gets a little bit of afternoon sun, but like I said, it’s 6:00 and you see these tall trees, they kind of any sun after about five or so just stops coming through there. So, looks really good. Berry lights look phenomenal all season as well. Got a little haley bop putting on a little bit of new growth right here. You can see that. And these uh these do like these do like a moist conditions. Not wet, but moist. They like to stay moist. So, it’s doing well. Been making sure not to let that dry out. There kryptonite looking good. Let’s see. Dark straw ice breaker on a FMA roottock doing well. I said it wasn’t going to turn into a tour, but it might. Let’s see. Koshiki Kotime doing pretty good. sunset. It’s slowly dropping some leaves. Uh, it’s doing okay. Color. This one colors up a lot better if you can give it some sun. If you can get it out of the shade. Um, it goes from green and it it does start looking a lot better. But this one, this thing has brightened up since I give get some afternoon sun there. Let’s see. Oh, you know what? I meant to show you one other thing. Check out my high grass snow kitten. Got it up on the porch out of the Well, it’s getting a little afternoon sun, but it’s got a little bit more variegation right now. This camera will focus. That sun is a little too bright, but it’s got a lot more variegation on this part now. Since I put it up on the porch, it gets a little bit more shade. So, doing a little bit better. All right, guys. Got a Beniheime here. Got another uh got a low graph snow kitten right here. Looking really good. See what else? Purple curl doing this thing. All right, let’s go to the backyard. See you in just a sec. All right, guys. I’m in the backyard. Uh thinking I’m going to put this that El Nino Chapa right here. U I had a maple there and for some reason it maples just don’t like that spot. Last couple I put there do not like that spot. So I’m going to put that Elino chop chapa right there. Uh planted a hot sauce right here. So that’ll be nice. I planted it I don’t know a month or so back. I had that thing for like a year before I put it in the ground. Uh what else can I show you? See I got a some rogue a rogue crepe myrtle coming back up and got some cherry shoots. Cherries done dropped all his leaves. Always does. Drops them early. So, I got to get in there, clean these shoots out. I got a weed right here. Pull some crab grass out. Mulch. Show you this little brass though. This little grass is pretty cool. I don’t It’s probably not a real new one, but it’s new one to me. Um, it’s called Chameleon. And this thing just takes the sun like a champ. You wouldn’t think so, but man, this it it colors up with the more sun. It had some it’s got some pink hues on it which kind of dissipated a little bit, but uh get two or three foot tall, probably three or four foot wide. Anyway, cool little grass. I got to do some weeding here. One thing I got to do, I got to uh this camera will focus. I got to limb this river birch up. See all these limbs hanging way down right here. I’m gonna get up here on a ladder and I’m going to trim a lot of this off right up here. We’ll try to lift it up. Might take a few bigger branches off. So, I got to get in there, do that. Uh got to get mulch along this bed, get this edged, do some weeding. There’s some weeds along the front, not so much the back. Um, got some like wild violet coming up, which I don’t mind them that much, but I’ll still get them out of there. Uh, what else can I show you? This Eid East. Looking good, guys. This is a If you don’t have this one, one for fall color. This uh Easley right here. This a pseudo sabold. This thing is outstanding in the fall. U this thing goes red, yellow to orange. Highly recommend it. Great spring color and it looks attract It looks attractive all year for me. Great green color. U really cool leaf on it. So highly recommend that one. See what else can I show you? Uh got this my stash back here. My extra trees and stuff. Uh, got a got a kryptonite right here. Now, I think I’m gonna up pot that, put it into a bigger pot and grow it up a little bit bigger. Um, twinkle toes here looking really good. This kryptonia and I got a hot blonde doing really well right here. But I got to get this f I got to get this these branches. I got to get in there and trim these right here. Got to take this uh viburnum. This other uh dang. I don’t know why I can’t think of it, but uh snowball viburnum. Got to trim some of them branches off. See what else? Got a curime here. Looking really good. some really nice cool root base throwing off the new growth and new flushes. Got a conifer here. This is a pinus nigura. I get this camera to focus. All right, there we go. This is a I’ll probably butcher the name. I’ll try to pop it up on the screen if I remember. This is a Pieric Reune Pinus [ย __ย ] something along those lines. I’ll throw the name up on the screen if I can remember. But, uh, I just cleaned out all the old needles on the inside. This thing is, this thing is doing awesome. I think it looks awesome. Uh, it’s done really well for me. Really enjoying that one. Oji. I got a Macau X Sharps. There’s a Hedgehog. This is a Hanuzu Hegar Romo, which I’m I’m thinking about taking that out and uh put something else there. Still debating. Um got a General Palasi back here starting to put on more growth. Got a sunshine lagustrum. See that there? Got a uh koi here. Think about planting one of these here. I’m not sure. I got a koi here. This is a ladybug that I got. And here is a Nemo. Think about planting one of these here. Hadn’t decided yet. Got a jewels right there. Animal Benny back here. This thing is doing wonderful. Got the blues back there. Got a good pretty good deal on that. Um but you know what? I’m not I’m not super crazy about it. This might come out. Something else might go in. Got a yellow threads back there. Got a cool uh rusian seedling. This is I believe this is frosty Himalayan pine I believe. Got a pink princess. Looking really good. This thing is about 4 foot tall. I get the camera to focus on it. Here it is. That ogon shinobi. Uh I think it’s a white pine. I think it’s a pine in this parallel floor maybe. But looking really good. It’s done really well in this spot. See the yellow and kind of yellow kind of bluish variegation on it or yellow and bluish color. And we’re looking really good. See, I got a Kio planted here. That’ll be cool. It’ll get wide right here. That’ be nice. And I got this big sweet bay here that I want to take some limbs off. So you can see this one right here comes down. I want to take that off. I don’t know if you can see that ladder. I got a ladder. We’re not zooming. But anyway, I got a ladder over there. I’m going try to get on that ladder. It’s about a 10 12t ladder. Cut half this off and come down here and cut the other half off. I don’t know. We’ll see what happens. I may have to get somebody to come over and help me. It might be good to video. See what happens. Uh, I want to take if you see this lower hanging branch right here that’s got the web worms on the end of it. I want to take that branch off. I think I want to take this branch off as well. Let some morning uh morning sun in. This is the west side. Spin you around. And you know, this east side over here, so be nice to get some morning sun to come in on this bed right here. Uh, what else can I show you? Got the turtle head starting to bloom back here. Show you this uh this maple. I’ve had this for a while. This is an area I got to work on. Got malberry weed. Uh I left it without mulch because I got a lot of a lot of digging out of stuff to do. If I got in here and did it, probably would only take 20 or 30 minutes. But uh I put stuff off too much. Let’s see if I can’t remember what this one’s called. This is Oh, yeah. This is a St. Justenta mto maple. Acer palatum. Kind of a dark purple red right now. If you can see that, but it only gets basically morning to midday sun right there. All right, what else can I show you? This video has turned out longer than I thought. All right, let me show you this Super Dragon. Looking good. Friend actually brought me a Super Dragon to uh open house one time and uh man, this thing is doing great. Uh puts out some nice red flushes as you can see. Try to get this camera focus. Got a uh spider ailia that I planted not too long ago there. I don’t think that was there since last video. Put another limelight hydranger right there. So hopefully come over and kind of fill this space up as well. And uh I’m going plant some stuff back here behind this super dragon. Thought maybe alas, but it kind of seems boring. Give me some y’all give me some suggestions. Let me know what y’all think. Uh, got this bed right here that I’ve been working on. This will be the next bed to get mulched. It’s almost ready. I got to edge it. Got a few more weeds over in here. Got SGE that uh I got something that’ll kill it. I just need to spray or pull pull up some spots. This is a Kiki’s broom magnolia. I did have it staked up right, but this is supposed to be more like a shrub, but the weight of it bented over and it kind of looks like a shrub now, but I’m not too crazy about it. It might come out. Builtmore blue there doing good. Got a HS dwarf looking okay. A little beat up, but it’s got some new growth coming out on it. Looking pretty good. Sure. And I mean, I had a uh I’ve been, man, I’m having mole problems. See if I can show you some tunnels. There’s tunnels here, here, here, right along that pot. I got them all over. Actually got a trap sit right there if you can see it. I got them everywhere. Uh but anyway, mole went through this year. I mean, I think they just recently went through. There’s another looks like another burrow, but did it number in on it. I thought it was going to die. It’s It’s got a lot of dieback on it. I don’t know. We’ll see if it makes it. Got this ma here putting out new growth, guys. Highly, highly recommend this cultivar right here. Mila, if you don’t have it, get it. Got Tom Thumb here and pot. had this maybe fourish years now. It’s looking a little rough. July and August. I get pretty lazy with watering, so I do forget sometimes. So, but it’s got a pretty thick base on it. Actually, I repotted this this year, early this year. Pulled it out, reprowned it, put it back in that pot. Doing good. And what can I show you up here? Got a This big fan right here. Now, this bazinga look all rough. These these wood boxes dry out pretty quick, especially in the sun. But, um, I got big fan over here. Again, we’ve had some extreme heat here. So, anyway, they’re doing okay. It’s toward the end of the season. Um, got an OB Yaoba Joe there doing okay. Got some new things I want to show you. I’ got fairly recent. Let’s see. Is a Let’s go ahead and show you. Got line cub here. This is a pretty new one. Um, hadn’t had this long. excited to get this. Been wanting it for a while and it’s got new growth coming out on it. I if you can see that if you’ll pick that up. We got the lion cub there. I think this is a sport or off shei. And then what else I got? I got a uh yeah, I got a Mac mystic macaw seedling there. Got Benny Macawa. was excited to get that. And I got a arctic flame here. Sister ceiling to a snow kitten, I believe, if I’m correct. Got some really nice variegation on it. And I got some other random stuff. Just random trees trying to get to. This is a green goblin I’ve had for about two years, and it’s put up an insane amount of growth this year, as you can see. But anyway, that’s pretty much the gist of it. Uh, anyway, so want to get that weeded, get some mulch. I got all that mulch from here on. Got a little section I need to start weeding. Get that done. And this bed right here, I want to get some uh this area right here from about where I’m pointing to that shrub all the way to about where this Mr. Macau is or right before it. we get a load of dirt and raise this area up because this all goes underwater when it rains. So, I want to lift this up, lift the grade up a little bit, maybe to the edge of this uh patio and then mulch it. We’ll see. A lot of plans, but I don’t know. Have enough time and money to do it. Uh few random things over here. Got a Joe hand that defoliated. Um it was kind of it was it was drying out really fast. Pulled it out of its container, put in that pot. It’s got new growth coming back out on it. Got a yamakagi there. Got a celebration here that I recently just put in them three gallon containers. And not much else looking that great. But yeah, I got plans get all this mulched, edged. Hopefully this is coming soon. Then we’ll pull this this holly bush out. And I got two more hollies down there under that uh that big maple. Um I think I’m going to pull them out. Got to lift the canopy up on that big maple. Take some limbs up on that sweet gum. Uh this crab apple right here. Not sure what I’m going to do with it, but I’m not liking it at all. So that might get heck, I don’t know. That might get chopped or might just limb it up and live with it for a while. Uh oh. Did I add this Apcot rainbow euphoria? Pretty cool plant. Um we’ll see if it lives through the winter winter. I think it gets um things I’ve heard it’s if it gets too wet during the winter if it stays too wet, you know, like anything else will rot. We’ll see. Got a uh I think this is called a blue feathers or blue angel. Um an oki cyprus. Maybe it’s blue feathers. Had a friend give me that. So, I plant that there and enjoy it. And it’s already put on a fairly amount of good amount of growth. Um, cryptoaria nanoglossa back there looking awesome. Oh, man. Check this out, guys. I just now saw this. I got to show you this. Check out this spider. That’s so cool seeing stuff like this out in the garden. You know, I’m not going to lie. I’m scared of spiders, but that’s pretty dang cool. Got web tangled in between this hydrangeanger and this nanoglo glossa kryptonia. Man, that’s cool. Isn’t nature awesome? But anyway, that’s uh that’s kind of some plans I wanted I’m thinking about doing stuff I want to get done. Uh, so anyway, I don’t want to ramble anymore. Hope you’ve uh enjoyed it. If you stayed this long, thanks for watching. Uh, if you stayed this long, you know, and you have subscribed, hit that subscribe button, share, like, all that good stuff. I would greatly appreciate it. Uh, I think the channel’s at a little over 500 now. I know I hadn’t been putting out videos like I should, but I’m going to try to start posting more videos maybe this fall or within the next week or so. Anyway, thank y’all for watching.
