I know they need bright direct light so I use an LED grow light for 12 hours a day, indoors. When watering, I water it outdoors and let the soil drain before bringing it back indoors.
However the bottom of each plant is brown and hard, and the leaves are dropping off. I don't think I have underwatered because I know they are drought resistant and are supposed to thrive on neglect. Also, when I stick my thumb in the top inch of soil is slightly damp.
Plesse enlighten me :'(

When you say the “bottom” of each plant is “brown and hard” are you referring to the stems?
It’s getting woody from something stressing it out most likely and it looks a bit wilted 🤔 I think something is wrong with the roots, or maybe there’s a lack of nutrients in the soil. Mine became woody due to some heat stress this summer and after fixing it, it started sprouting new growth again
I would increase watering and put it in the sun at least in the morning (but gradually add it). And fertilize or change this substrate. Good luck out there!
