This week on Good Day Gardening, we caught up with Paul Thomas, general manager of Darby Creek Nursery. Paul highlighted the beauty of ornamental grasses, saying now is the perfect time to buy them. At this point in the season, you can see their full height and how they will look in your landscaping. Buying in the spring can be tricky since the grasses are much smaller and harder to visualize.
Paul also pointed out that this is a great time to shop for trees. The ones in the garden center often start showing their fall colors a little earlier since they are above the soil in their burlap sacks, giving you a preview of the color your tree will bring to your yard.
