This customer usually keeps the grass fed and fertilised very successfully, but over the last few weeks it has started to die back. I have asked if he had accidentally put weed killer down but he assured me he hadn’t made that mistake.

In the last picture you can see what appears to be to be footsteps of dead patches?

Any advice on theory or remedy would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Is the subsoil soft enough for good root development or is it hard clay?

Did they use an ‘All-In-1’ or ‘4 In 1’ weed, feed and moss killer? The dark patches remind me of when I’ve seen this over-applied and it leaves a concentration of iron sulphate.

If so it looks like it’s been over-applied, not watered in enough or both. Has it been unusually dry there (like it’s been here in Cumbria)? Maybe they’re used to rain washing it in and didn’t water so it’s scorced it. I’d water now if it’s dry. I’d be interested to know how it goes.

Do they have a dog? Lot of those look like urine dog patches too
