I’ve had my monstera (his name is Jeffrey) on the right for a few years, and a lady near me was selling the one on the left for $40 on fb marketplace.

This guy is huge.

When my wife came home with it, I was shocked. The leaves are huge. Way bigger than the one I’ve had for years.

Now im concerned that I’m either not taking care if mine on the right well or I won’t be able to sustain the behemoth on the left.

Any advice?

Mine I’ve had for years i just repotted a few months ago, and i water him about once a week and i have a grow light on him about 4-6 hours about 3-4 days a week, and let natural light do the rest. Hes not in a window but adjacent to one. I also don’t use fertilizer.

What area or region of the world are you from? What direction is the window facing? Is the grow light only beneath the plant as shown in the photo?

For me, I live in western WA and I have my monstera plants in front of a east facing window that gets the morning sun when there is any and bright indirect light for about 50% of the day on top of having at least 3 grow lights above them/on the plant for 8 hours every day. I water when the soil is 75-100% dry and fertilize during the growing months every time I water, and once every 2-3 months during the fall, winter and early spring. I’m no expert by any means and my monstera has given me her first double fenestrated leaf and I’ve had her for three years when she was a tiny plant with 5 leaves and no fenestrations
