I’ve been trying to propagate this monstera in water (I did let it dry out for a couple of days after I made the cut before submerging).
It’s been a few weeks and now looks like this, possibly rotting? Can I salvage or do I have to give up on this

It doesn’t look like it’s rotting to me, no
if its soft and mushy to the touch then probably yeah, but (and im no expert) from here i dont think it had rot. sometimes some cuttings just take a while. if it is seeming like rot just cut the rotted bit off with clean scissors and let callous over again
My cutting took literally a month to actually push out a root(now ofc I didn’t use any extra foods or what nots to help growth) but after that first root came it started going at it, now it’s in my south facing window getting nice bright afternoon sun with partial in the morning and end of day! But after that first root it started producing more little ones off of it. I’m letting it fill the vase till about January(atleast that’s my end line at earliest I’ll do November!). But as long as the node isn’t mushy and not hard then it is rot but if it’s still kinda hard maybe a little slimey then she should be fine just let her be and let the magic happen!
Happy gardening 👩🌾
It looks really healthy to be honest.
I like putting mine in water so I can see the roots form. There’s something so satisfying to that. You could try that?
You can recut the end. A callous just slows down the process and it doesn’t prevent disease. This way, the cutting can uptake water. This will move things along. Letting the end dry is an outdated method.
I see no rot at all
