Hello 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Thumbs up! Great content
Hello from Tina and Ryder from long ago… lol – you’re so awesome!!
Chicory grows beautiful blue flowers
Hi Friend! I harvested my oregano, basil, Thai basil, thyme, & mint. I bundled the thyme & I froze it with my basil. My rosemary thrives in my area during the winter so I just leave it alone in a container on the deck. I love growing and harvesting herbs.
I wonder how you can keep the wasps off the turmeric,,?
Just found this off AI “Essential oil spray: Wasps dislike strong smells like peppermint, clove, and lemongrass.
Mix several drops of peppermint oil with water and a tablespoon of dish soap in a spray bottle.
Spray the solution around your turmeric plants, being careful not to soak the leaves.”
I want a MORINGA plant soon.. however I’m not sure how it will do in the Central Fl heat- glad yours is doing well
And found this too in AI “Wasp-repelling plants: Plant strong-scented herbs and flowers nearby to create a protective barrier. Good options include:
Peppermint
Spearmint
Lemongrass
Thyme
Eucalyptus
Marigolds
Basil”
Hey it’s me. I haven’t finished the video but watched what you said about the lemongrass. I’m sooo happy it is growing for you. I tried to find a strong piece of root with a little bit of leaves for you and that’s what I sent since you lost what I sent the year before to the winter.
Sounds like you babied it and it is doing well! Just know I’ve always got it if you need us to send some to you each year. It always comes back here. I cut the roots of mine all up this year and peppered our place with it everywhere. Ps – one of my Roselle plants is 6 feet tall and about 5 feet wide. No flowers yet! This has been a crazy hot summer here.
I’ve only used chicory for coffee. Can’t wait to hear how everyone might use it for cooking!
I eat turmeric daily. It's great to prevent inflammation pain. Would love to grow my own but, I know it's tropical and I would have to bring it inside for the winter. I planted sage in my garden a few years ago and it comes back every year, it thrives in my garden.
I have a culinery sage plant that I started from seed when I first moved to my home in Texas 6 years ago. It's a huge bush now. Three feet in circumfrence and at least 3 feet tall. I put it in a large galvinized containter I bought on Marketplace for pennies. It blooms these stalks o delicate pink flowers in the spring. Very hardy.
You have so many interesting herbs. Mine haven't done very good this year including sage. I'd like to find some of the narrow leaf sage.
Kaye upon looking up turnsole and heliatrope, it said that they are both poisonous to pets and people, but it had beneficial uses also ? 🤔 please check on it ,but I think you should have gloves on, so there you go, love is the key, always 💞
Hi well thought I'd chime in an tell you what I do for my herbs.Matching med pots along a strip of sunny place CLOSE to my door I played down woodchips over cloth looks nice an I can pluck leaves as I walk by an lay on drying cloth in my kitchen all summer an so by end of summer I have way more then I could use lol so gift to friend at holidays. If tender ones need to come in easy to lift or take chunk from an move inside .I tried to have in ground many ways but as getting older containing is our friend lol❤
You have definitely got a green thumb! 🌿🌱
I love propagating plants. I have to get some ginger and turmeric to grow this season. Mine too, it's my favourite watermelon. Pity, I lost my seeds. I tried to order more, but got in trouble. We truly have strict laws for bringing seeds in. It's funny that certain groups can, but not us gardeners. It's too much paperwork and money to try. I sent most of my seeds to other people here in Australia to try in a seed giveaway group many years ago. None of them saved seeds. Sad. It was the best watermelon variety ever. Its super sweet. You can eat it right to the rind. Perfect for the kids. Kate just chuck the seeds out in full sun areas and let them grow on its own next year 🙂
