Right now I’m using a mix I found suggested on Reddit but I haven’t been able to tell how much it works. My mite infestation is pretty small so it’s hard to tell. I’m so upset because I chose to buy my first monsteras locally instead of buying from Lowe’s. But they have spider mites. Honestly I’m half tempted to bin them and go back to Lowe’s. I can handle mealies even tho it sucks but I really don’t wanna deal with spider mites

That’s a bad infestation of spider mites. Move it away from other plants. You might try taking it outside and trying to wash some of them off with a hose or hand washing with soapy water. After that you’re going to need a good insecticide.

Yeah it’s spider mites but caaaaaalm down you can handle this! How big is the plant? Separate jt from the others and take it outside to a shady spot if you can. Hose it off. Blast it with the hose. When it dries hit it with some insecticidal soap, drench it. If you don’t have any, use a dish soap and isopropyl alcohol solution in a spray bottle. Make sure you get under the leaves and in every crevice. You will likely have to repeat this a few more times but you can get rid of them if you are diligent 🙂

I take my plants and give them a shower in my sink with the sprayer every time they need watered, and it has kept the mites away for me!

spider mites. blast those assholes with insecticidal soap, wash them in the shower, and then spray with neem or horticultural oil. my girlfriend has had spider mites and the neem oil always seems to do the trick but you should go nuclear on those little turds

Maybe calm down and put this baby in the shower. Rinse off all leaves. Don’t get water in the soil. Make sure you get all the stems and leaves front and back. You can buy perfect plantista and it helps to keep them at bay so your beauty doesn’t endure anymore spider mites ever.

Every time you water your plants from now on. Spray all he leaves down with water and it helps. I have almost 200 plants and the more plants the more pests seem to be attracted so I do this every watering and it helps alot. I havnt lost any plants to pests since I started doing this.

  8. Tap a leaf over a blank piece of white paper and see what falls off. It will help you identify pests better then viewing on the leaf.

Honestly went through this with my kiwi plant now it only has new growth left i need to protect at all costs, your BEST FRIEND against spider mites are humidity and hose down/wipe down.

You can do this as many times a day as you want to keep the pests clear off it, the saving grace is its on a large cutting with big leaves, the likelihood of them sticking around after the first wipe down is small if you were diligent. Check every crevice of the plant and use diluted dish soap like dawn to wipe down the ENTIRE plant save the roots. One way i have stopped a bad infestation clear in its tracks is by hosing down the plant with water. You can wrap a garbage or recycling bag around its pot or roots if it doesn’t have a pot yet and just let it pour. Even your shower-head works as long as the water is tepid and not shocking the plant with too hot or too cold water.

Wiping the plant down with your soapy water, rinsing thoroughly under the shower, and then using a clean dry cloth or paper towel to wipe down the plant afterwards is my best recommendation for survival. If you do this even once a day for a week you will see results guaranteed against spider mites. Ive saved my kiwi, rose bush, pothos, and even a few bushes like gooseberry this way and it works 100% of the time.

Anyone try Swirskii mites as an integrated pest management? These mites are natural predators that feed on pest eggs and larvae. Especially spider mites, thrips, and white flies.

I use the picture this app. It saves plants to your garden album and will tell you the care they need and diagnose disease with just a picture. I have 70+ house plants and am forever treating somthing. I think dog hair and dust. 🤔
