Hello! I have a long history of being an accidental plant murderer. Through a lot of learning and support from my lovely plant minded friends, I have mended my ways but what started as a fun let's see experiment with my daughter has led to real life and I don't want to drop the ball lol. I have a two part question. It was recommended to 1) wait until the stalk has grown a bit to move to soil (i am about to go buy new proper soil for it this weekend as I only have cacti/succulent soil, this guy started getting tall fast lol) and also 2) prune the stalk once it's a few inches long to stimulate more growth.
So my two part question is how do I prune this little guy? Is there a way to see the best spot? A best way to do the actual cutting? It grew these little leaves almost overnight and now I'm having like moral debates on legal plant mutilation lol anxiety is ridiculous sometimes. Also, for some reason I feel like angled cuts are a thing, but maybe that was just bouquets? And part two, is pruning and moving to soil way too traumatic for one weekend? Should I do one, wait, then do the other? And if that's a strong yes, which order?
That was a lot more than 2 questions, and a lot of it is anxiety induced rambling so I apologize lol my daughter and I have just been so excited that we grew this little guy and I don't want to mess it up!
