Trying to figure out if this is a mealy bug. It hasn’t really moved and has been in the same spot since I noticed it yesterday. And it looks like it has two antennae. If it is a mealy bug what should I do ? I also realized that this plant (global green pothos) isn’t doing well and is yellowing. Not sure if that is because of the potential mealy bug. The pot does have good drainage, and I water when fully dry. The plant gets its lighting from a plant ring light. I use a regular chunk aeroid mix soil.

yes and there are probably many more, unfortunately.

Yes it is, take a q-tip, dunk in isopropyl alcohol and physically remove all the ones you can see. The alcohol kills them on contact. Insecticidal soap or horticultural oil spray is a good foliar treatment option, do a light mist but get it everywhere bc those suckers like to hide. I prefer horticultural oil because it literally kills every pest by smothering them and their eggs, even spider mites, which are notorious for not being well eradicated by other treatments, like spinosad. Less products to buy/mix up. You can spray it down every 4 to 5 days until they are completely eradicated. If you are really worried and they keep coming back or want an option for future prevention, SNS 209 systemic soil drench is a game changer. Pests don’t build up resistance to it like that can with synthetic chemical foliar treatments.

Yes definitely a mealy! Like others said there are likely more – check all the crevices…

Alcohol diluted with some water kills them instantly and then you also need to treat the soil.

Be sure to isolate the plant asap and check any neighbors thoroughly!

I use a 70% Isopropanol (rubbing alcohol) Spray and spray twice a week for 2 months. Thats usually plenty to remove them.

Make sure you spray the soil too.

You can also use dawn and warm water and soap the plant down, if they’re really bad, cut back some of the growths and after the stems have dried , spray it with soapy water again.

When mealies look like that, they are about to die and offer their body as a nest for their babies. NOT EVEN KIDDING. Kill it ASAP with rubbing alcohol!

I tried to fight these bastards for weeks and they just kept popping up. Eventually I just cut some stems I knew were bug free and propagated them, tossing the rest. It sucks cuz that’s a nice looking pothos, but it’ll grow back quick and is much better than mealy bugs

WTF I think I found something like this on my plant this weekend! I sprayed it like crazy in the sink then sprayed with captain jack and let it burn in the sun to think about is choices. I brought it back in and haven’t seen anything yet. Ugh!

I straight up spray the entire plant with 70% isopropyl. That drenches even the smallest crevices where they might be hiding. I’ll spray every few days for a week at least

Yes isolate immediately from other plants. Treat with alcohol application directly on the mealybug. If you catch it before infestation sets in, sometimes you can save the plant.
