I was cleaning this 5 gallon tank (the tank was full of water at the time.) As i took the lid off, the prong of the plug to the light thats on the lid, hit the inside of the tank. It didn't hit it to hard, so I thought. But I still checked out the tank to make sure everything was fine. It was.
I was able to finish cleaning the tank and setting it back up. Then, about 10 mins after that, I hear a loud sound. I was unsure what it was at the time. So I go looking around to find out what it was..
I checked the tank and sure enough my worst fear happened. The tank had cracked, on the inside.
I know I CANT use it as an aquarium, but can this tank still be used as a paludarium for vampire crabs? If not what can I use the tank for?
I really don't want to throw it away, but I will if I can't safely use it.

As long as you don’t fill the water above/near the water line I think it should be fine
It could be used as a paludarium if you never fill it with water above about an inch below that crack. If you do, then the pressure will make your tank explode. I personally would not chance it. One day you’ll forget, and you will wind up with water and tank contents on the floor. You could use it as a tererraium for perhaps a tortise or a bearded dragon then you wouldn’t have to worry about water or extra pressure on that crack.
Its structural integrity is compromised, it shouldn’t be filled with water to ANY level. Its suitable for a dry terrarium only. Its not worth risking water damage to save a few bucks not buying a new tank.
