I got this dendrobium creamy a few months ago and it was in really bad shape. Had so much root rot but the canes were still healthy so I tried reviving it with the others that arrived in similar condition. Well, it slowly started to lose its leaves and the roots still weren't looking the greatest. 3 weeks ago (last picture) I was about to throw it out but wanted to wait since there were a couple of good roots. During watering day 2 days ago, I was again about to chuck it but I took it out of the pot and noticed the tiniest growth and more roots. This one plant has definitely given me the run around but hopefully now it'll push off

Also, yes I know the pot is way too big. I've run out of my 2 inch pots

I live in South Florida and once accidentally left a piece of a dead dendrobium under a bush. Quite a while later I found it and it had resurrected itself. It went on the thrive and bloom.

This gives me hope for the dendrobium I rescued from the Lowe’s clearance/”garbage” rack this past winter. I’ve tried my best to revive and even separate the plant to maybe save some of it from the rot. 1 of the 2 is giving me white flag keikis and the other is pushing up new canes and leaves as of a couple weeks ago. All winter and spring I’ve been doing my utmost because it felt like such a shame for a big mature dendrobium to just die in the garbage.

I’ve got a Phal that my orchid gal said to toss, it wasn’t worth trying to save because it would be a long time before it blossomed. That wasn’t the goal for me. I just wanted to give it a chance after being a great bloomer for a year🥹. Rootless, I suspended it over a water in a glass and tucked into plastic crate to increase humidity. About a month later a root started to make its way towards the water! About another month later it produced a leaf! It’s now in some sphagnum and got a root growing off of a nub of an old root. It suddenly dropped 3 leaves last week but they were wrinkled and weren’t going to go back to healthy anyway. And a dendrobium outside I thought for sure was a goner because I forgot about it until recently 😞. Been watering regularly this summer and there’s a sign of life!!🙌

I was really bad about taking care of my first one and as it was dying it put out a baby 😂 so now I’m trying to keep the baby going. No roots yet. :/
