I posted awhile ago about the 4 calathea plants I had gotten in a delivery. Well, one also came with a lovely bonus gift of spider mites-which moved to all 4 before being noticed. Many treatments and a repotting for everyone later-they just were pissy and not my biggest fans.
They have had no new growth or anything within the last 2 weeks; only further deterioration. So, fed up and tired of looking at how unhappy they were, I decided yesterday that I was going to try one last thing before just completely yeeting them to the nearest compost bin and cut them all back to the soil.
Please explain to me why this lady is…seriously! Less than 24 hours ago I cut her down bald! This morning, she gives me this. 😒

Sometimes you gotta cut them down and they come back better than ever!
My calatheas don’t grow and start looking like shit for around 3~6 months before they give out the good growth. I’m always expecting it to abort prematurely and dry out but then I get a leaf. Keep your expectations low and expect them to look like garbage and they’ll look nice. I barely even remember what one of them looks like rn bc it fully died back and it’s new leaf hasn’t unfurled LMAO
Do you give this light? I did a pest treatment and messed up my Dottie and white fusion now my Dottie has no leaves and my fusion is holding on to 4 which are probably going to die. I’m going to do the bag trick you did with my Dottie
Is this a rattlesnake?
