I planted a crab apple tree (or so I was told) about ten years ago and it’s growing these berry looking things (first pic). Then across the yard an apple tree of some sort started growing (second pic) and looks more like crab apples than what I planted. My friend said you need two apple trees to cross pollinate so what’s going wrong? Am I holding onto a dream that’ll never happen with the crab apple tree?

They look like cherries! No idea if that’s the case, commenting as would be interesting to find out

First tree is a cherry. Well done with beautiful fruits! Second one is an apple. There is another apple tree somewhere (maybe a neighbor) and the bees found both.

First pic could be a Siberian crab apple
