I have a 260 ft by 66 ft yard and just thinking of what would be some good ideas on what i should put in besides grass. San Antonio Texas. Also notice that all the yard is having huge cracks not sure why.

I have a 260 ft by 66 ft yard and just thinking of what would be some good ideas on what i should put in besides grass. San Antonio Texas. Also notice that all the yard is having huge cracks not sure why.


Just finished putting in a fence and i want to work on the yard but I really don't want gras,s and was thinking maybe there is something else that would be nice for the yard. I wouldn't mind native plants but also want something where it won't grow super tall ,

    That is a large yard. Consider planting in zones. I would look into native plants including native trees. Your yard will be more enjoyable with greenery and trees. Your soil is cracking because it is exposed to the sun and doesn’t contain enough organic matter. Once you plan out your yard, look into compost and mulch to improve your soil health. Congratulations on your new home. It is a good idea to look into non lawn alternatives before spending the time and money on lawn.
