I believe the cultivar to be Dave turner pachanoi,
But until i hear back from the dude who gave it to me 5 years ago i call it Noid #1 in my records.

And how long did you dry the wound? Did the crystals adhere naturally or??

I personally believe the plant is attempting to envelop the crystal to absorb more energy.
Side arms in my experience are rare.
Once the arms are fully formed it will be as if the plant is holding the stone close to its chest.
Could also just be a coincidence i dont know.

Just out of curiosity as it might try this for fun. What mineral is the crystal? Straight quartz or some other type?

Who knows if metals embedded in the quartz triggers something! Or the new way light can hit the plant might make it think its on its side. Or just the envelopment theory.

    I love theese oddities 🙂

I could try that on a scopulicola that has had a hard time with the qlimate here.

But one thing i Will always do to atleast my rooted new bought plants is to let half of them lie under light untill they sometimes pups while logged.
