Hi everyone! I had two of these plants randomly pop up in my backyard, figured I’d water them and see what they turned into. I’m 99% sure that it’s chile pequin, but I wanted to see if there are any possible lookalikes before I start eating them 😅

If they are indeed pequin peppers, any favorite ways to prepare them?

  1. Yes it is. A bird probably planted them. They will come back after the winter

What luck! I dry them in a dish in the windowsill and then store in a jar with a desiccant bag.

  3. yes! I love how they look like tiny Christmas lights. I have its relative the chilpetin/chile petin which are the same size but round. pretty good luck that they popped up in your yard!

I looooove chile pequin. I had a volunteer one pop up in my backyard recently. They’re so hardy once established
