Got him on Friday (pic 1), was a bit unsure of amount of watering/frequency. He got a bit curly yesterday so I watered, but didnt realise the water drips right down into the outer pot (with a small gap), so Im worried Ive drowned the poor guy overnight. Notice he is pointing up now though so appears lively?
Note I have since clipped some of the bad end bits of some leaves, but these and any marks were all there when I got the plant
Light is indirect next to but not at the window, I think this is good but tell me if Im wrong; soil I have no idea.

calathea are ones of the most finicky plants i ever cared for, i am beginner, got it at march for my birthday, from what i read, calathea like moist but not dripping soil, they like high humidity and pure water, but also saw someone that he simply poured normal tap water and it acclimated
they belong in praying plants, leaves go will up at night , down at morning, i really struggle with brown edges and tips though:(
What kind of water are you using?
The cat has certainly cronched a leaf! Not sure if they are toxic to cats so do a quick Google on that. Calatheas are so finicky. Dont feel bad
Just find a good spot for it and let it recuperate in its new conditions
